I don't understand picking that flag up. Was pass interference redefined at 9:00pm last night?

He's right, but there were six horrible calls. Florida got plain robbed. Zook the Unlucky.

Personally, I don't have a problem with bad calls in a game. What I have a problem with is not suspending the crew for a few rounds, if not firing them, for incompetent performance. Moral hazard has a way of creeping up (see baseball umpires).

Apparently it's o.k. for a defender to wrap up a receiver so he can't move and it's not PI because after he was wrapped up he couldn't get to the ball so the pass wasn't catchable.

Even if it wasn't PI, it sure as hell was defensive holding.

I thought it was seven but maybe these things grow as time passes.

Either way, before that game I'd never seen a game determined by refs start to finish.

It's been a long time, but I recall after watching the game a third time that there were 5 TERRIBLE calls and one that was just "pretty bad". Not that it makes it any better....

At least most of us are united in outrage. Only a few diehards insisted on blaming Zook...

and it's not like they were just blatant holding penalties that were ignored, they were all turnovers that went against us

Everyone keeps saying the refs were incompetent in the Swindle game. They weren't incompetent at all. In fact quite the opposite, they knew exactly what they were doing. It was out and out cheating for FSU.

The Swindle In The Swamp - the worst officiated game in the history of college football and 2nd place isn't close.

The PAC 10 screwed Oklahoma at Oregon about 5 or 6 years ago too, but it wasn't in The Swindle category.

Somehow, I woke up at 2:00 this morning and was thinking about the Swindle and I didn't even see the end of the Monday night game.

I may never forget Leon Washington fumbling inside the two yardline, Channing Crowder coming out with the ball, refs claiming that Washington had recovered (must have been with his butt cheeks because that was the only part of his body on the ball), then Crowder gets an unsportsmanlike for protesting the call.

Half the distance to the goal and automatic first down, now from the one.

And then when the game was over both teams fought at midfield. What a disgusting game. I was there 8 rows up and can still see myself in highlights sporting my white hoodie. I got so mad at one point in the game during a timeout I was telling a ref how great I thought he was and then threw my hat at him off my head (stupid I know) and in turn it hit an officer instead. They came to our section looking for whomever did it but nobody called me out. I was 22 at the time and it was a dumb thing to do but what a frustrating game. Never been more pissed off in my life. People forget if we win that game we go to the sec championship game because we were in a tie and the highest ranked BCS team would go.

Yuck. Why are we discussing that mess? The worst!
