Whacked at home by LSU and giving up 59 points yesterday. Couple that with the fact that I think he's 1-15 against top ten opponents, could the cowbells be looking for a new coach?

He also made the mistake of jumping to a program that will always be outgunned by its division rivals. Resource wise they are behind Alabama, LSU, aTm, and Auburn. Strong was much smarter going to a Louisville IMO. Certain programs are death knells for your career unless you're a truly great coach.

Biggest mistake, IMO, was not jumping up after a couple of good years at MSU. I think he's a good OC for the spread....it showed when he left.

Nobody can win consistently in Starkville. Mullen has done all he can there.

My take: they won't get a better HC in there. He probably waited too long to move to a better program. I won't belittle what he is doing there. Tough place to recruit.

DM had taken MSU as far it was going to go two years ago. That was when he should have parlayed his limited success into a program that he could actually grow. The deck is stacked against MSU. It doesn't matter how many times he beat Ole Miss in the field if all the top recruits in Mississippi are going to play for pay at Ole Miss, no matter how much the Rebs perpetually suck.

I agree that MSU is a tough place to win. But MSU seems to dump coaches all the time. Very hard to get any consistency there.

He needs to jump ship before he goes down with it.

Ole Miss has taken the state, time to move on.
