I wonder how often this happens? You hear guys say things were planted on them all the time but this is the first I've seen where there was actually evidence of such.

Guy is lucky he had the recordings.

    Sick chit.

Another example of why we need to end the war on drugs.

One of the related videos (different incident completely) has a cop threatening to kick some guy's azz and plant cocaine on him.

    Nice.

Cops need to start realizing that they, too, are now being watched.

You have to think this kind of stuff has been going on forever, but only now coming to light with the increasing use of cameras.

    Exactly.

And all it does is lend credence to those in jail claiming they were framed. They can point to cases like this and ask for new trials, which costs everyone money.

The cynic in me imagines them getting warrants, and seizing these surveillance videos which conveniently disappear or get erased.

I watched a really bad movie last night called the Forgotten. It is based on the premise that an alien race has been conducting experiments on humans for some long time, and certain members of government are aware of it.

For one such experiment, the aliens stage a plane accident which fakes the death of six children going to summer camp. They then use mind techniques to see if they can force the parents to forget they ever have children. They of course erase every shred of evidence, including government records, papers and the like.

That is where it jumped the shark.

While the cynic in me agrees with you that some cops might do this, doing so will require a lot more effort. Having the cameras is a good thing.

Yep. I am really glad to see most courts uphold the right to photograph and film government employees.

No doubt, true. We need the cameras. Clearly.

I'd like to know if the undercover agent has been charged or tried for his clearly criminal efforts to frame this store owner?

Well, that might just depend on whether someone . . . "suggested" . . . him to do that, or not.

    Could get messy.

Of course, if he said he was directed by his police handlers to do that, of course he clearly would be lying.

I mean, think about the absurdity of alleging that a business owner put crack cocaine in a baggie on his display counter.

For what ? The whole world to see ?

I want to know why this story has a racial angle in the first place... it's about bad cops versus a legitimate business man... why use the color/race baiting angle when there wasn't a racist confrontation to begin with??
