They have probably know longer than 3 weeks. According to Dooley Muschamp said they were not going to hire somebody until after the bowl games (dont reallly believe that) so it is very plausible nobody has been offered.

Yeah I'm not sure what we're waiting for. Unless we are hiring someone from auburn or fsu which is unlikely given both head coaches call their plays.

Meanwhile I'm sure our top offensive recruits would like to know what system they are going to be playing in.

It's me...I run the "my hair is on fire" offense....I make Oregon's offense look like ours.

I can't fault an OC for expecting his guys to get a yard.

Important dates coming up (if any of these guys are the next OC, my guess is that they will be announced shortly after their bowl game):

12/21 Las Vegas Bowl: USC- Helton
    12/28 Belk Bowl: UNC- Anderson
    12/31 Sun Bowl: UCLA- Mazzone
    1/5 GoDaddy Bowl: ASU- Norvell

Looks like Anderson will be interviewing for the Arkansas State HC job.

Saw that too. Just him interviewing may be enough to remove him through deductive reasoning. If there was a concern for UNCs bowl game and their focus, one would think that him interviewing publicly for the Arkansas St. job would be just as significant as him interviewing publically for the OC job here, which apparently didn't happen.

He would be an exciting hire.

    Cook's coach said:

“He will have to feel comfortable with the new OC they bring in, and he has to see if it’s the right fit for him,” Smith said. “At first it was. He’s still committed, but we’ll see.”

This quote could indicate that we had Mazzone locked up at one point, and then things changed when Mora stayed and gave him a bump (which is what Frank Frangie assumed on 1010xl in Jax). That said, it sounds like there still may be mutual interest RE: Mazzone based on recent reports.

Getting Mazzone and Cook would be a good day for the Gators.

The context of the statement seems to be referring to "the Coordinator they bring in." Not saying he wasn't referring to Pease, but the context seems to indicate otherwise.

"Smith feels Brent Pease’s replacement will determine whether or not Cook sticks with UF."

“He will have to feel comfortable with the new OC they bring in, and he has to see if it’s the right fit for him,” Smith said. “At first it was. He’s still committed, but we’ll see.”

The first part of this report would indicate it was referring to pease. Remember he actually committed originally to play in Pease ' s offense, if you can actually believe that lol. Probably because it focused on running. But he says coaches told him we will be running something like auburn but throwing a little more. That would be nice.

Maybe Muschamp's plan is to let Siri on his iPhone call the plays.

Just from my past experience from recruits when there are coaching changes, the coaches already usually know who they're bringing in and they let the recruits have a list of who it might be (they can't just tell them because one could spill the beans with all the multi-media today), and they usually tell them first and foremost as soon as the ink in dry on the contract. The players and recruits will know before we do.

One would think that the OC would be able to have input regarding the OL hire. I suppose other coaches may be OK with Searels.

If Champ hired an OL coach before getting his OC on board, that would seem counterproductive....especially with him wanting to go to a new system. One would think that he would bring in someone who can take us from what we are running now, to up tempo spread. That being the case, that individual would need significant input when it comes to selecting the right OL coach that can help the team make that journey.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Searels have a reputation as being a poor O-line coach?

Reputation of being a good OL coach and a good recruiter.
