Carrying on a discussion in the game thread. I'm really worried our Keep away offense is going to get us beat against a real SEC team. Its all well and good against Kentucky, but even they were picking up chunks on us.

IMO this is not going to work against a UGA or LSU

We had 250+ yards in the first half. I'm pretty sure we are capable of keeping it going when we need to. I could be wrong but I don't think I am. The announcers said it themselves, we get the lead then sit on it. It hasn't killed us in any game so far *knocks on wood*

Agree 100%. The other team is always a turnover away from being in the game

The coaches know a lot more about the strengths and weaknesses of this team than we do. As long as we score more points than the other team, I'm just fine with it! Just win baby!

As am I. But will this work against a big time SEC team? I have my doubts. If you get a two TD lead, then by all mean run it run it run it.

It already bit us against Miami. And cost us UGA and Louisville last year.

This offense is better than the one that beat LSU, USCe and FSU last season...so there's that.

Good lord. Voicing a legitimate concern is ALWAYS whining? I've specifically said, as long as they win, fine do whatever you want on offense. Again mu concern is not being able to get that 2 TD lead. Or doing this conservative style with a 1 score lead. All it takes is one mistake to turn the game.

    No.

Execution/turnovers did that....not the play calling.

The play calling drove the ball.

Lack of execution turned it over.

The offense was rolling in the 1st half, mixing up alot of pass/run. They just took their foot off of the gas the 2nd half and relied on ball control to protect the lead. Not the first time a Florida team has done this....check out the 1996 Tennessee game.

Why are these fans on here so ungrateful? This team did well tonight despite many obstacles. They deserve some praise!

I don't think it's whining - I've got no complaints with wins any way we can get them, but I do think it's a valid question that this thread brings up. College football has some crazy momentum shifts, and I feel like we do take a bit of a risk when we go super conservative with one or two score leads against teams with more explosive offenses than UK.

Said all week before the game that Muschamp would sit on the lead and play defense when we got ahead and that a lot of Gators would be aggravated by it.

No surprise there some here are complaining about it already.

Just look at it this way... at least we didn't let a Boston College level competitive team like UK score 34 on us today.

I gotta admit, the second half was a snooze-fest. The scary thing is if Murphy doesnt prevent that TD on the INT, we could have been in a close game. There is something to be said for ball control, but you just can't consistently convert 10-12 play drives into TD's...we need to be able to go vertical. You can call it whining all you want, but we are not going to be able to beat UGA, LSU, and USC without a vertical passing game.
