To hell with all of you slimy liberal congress people, leftist president, and people that put these useless politicians into power. This is the beginning of the end. The political class rule us.

But it soon became apparent the provision contained no language that allowed federal contributions toward their health plans that cover about 75 percent of the premium costs.

This caused fears that staff would suddenly face sharply higher healthcare costs and leave federal service, causing a "brain drain" on Capitol Hill.

But Wednesday's proposed rule from the OPM, the federal government's human resources agency, means that Congress will escape the most onerous impact of law as it was written.

maybe because the rest of the country aren't going to get the fat subsidies to pay for the inflated costs of the exchange plans and the ones that are getting the subsidies are getting it from the tazpayers. good enough for you but not good enough for us is the message sent from DC and only the most tone deaf partisan hacks are the ones that cannot hear it.

Not sure yet, this was a Reuters article, not Breitbart.

But this seems to be intended to put back in place the employer contribution to insurance purchase that by law got stripped from congressional employees - but no one else in the country - because of the language of the amendment. I'm fine with that.

Yeah, that's what it did. But my guess is that if you hadn't told them, they wouldn't have known. Wouldn't have figured it out.

I think it's actually because congressional employees aren't eligible for the subsidies that "the rest of the country" are, and they accidentally eliminated their employer contribution while requiring one from everyone else.

hard not to be, when you've got people continually starting threads without being able to explain their point. they often don't even understand what the piece they posted meant. see the crony capitalism thread. or this one. or ....

Take it easy on them, Drudge linked to the Reuters article which is a clear indication that you should be mad about it, but failed to link to Breitbart or a Fox op-ed to explain why exactly you're supposed to be mad. That's a tough spot for a parrot to be in, expected to talk but without anything to repeat yet.

To think, this all came about from a stupid GOP stunt amendment that totally backfired (since it wasn't written to actually pass). Since it did, now they have to actually make it work. Which it seems like they have. I guess you could be angry about the shear stupidity of it all.

Its being reported that when Congress opens for business after its summer recess a bill will be introduced that will allow each member of Congress to determine whether the Administration's "fix" will apply to his/her staff members. That seems fair to all concerned.

Let's see. The last thread I started was on the Florida voter purge. Care to explain how you don't think I made my point or understood the story?

glad to see OP use a reputable source for an article.

funny thing is, I didn't read anything from the OP regarding just how a liberal, lefty, etc provision got thru the GOP dominated House of Representatives.

looks like many of the GOP in the House are liberal, lefties themselves to pass such a provision.

Congress is bypassing the law. It's not right. If they aren't going to be in it then none of us need to be in it.

Laws should either apply to EVERYONE, or NO ONE. Period. No matter the party, no matter the politics.

This current crop of idiots in DC is shameful. I can't think of one of the idiots I would vote for, party be damned. I will say Pelosi and Reid are worse than Boehner and McConnell. <------ That statement should not be construed to be an endorsement of Boehner and McConnell. I think I could find 2 crack heads to do as well as those idiots.

I guess not. I'd rather them actually try and explain why they think it's wrong. But we know they can't. So they just throw out stuff like Dad did, without having a clue what actually happened.
