So forcing legal Americans citizens to pay for lawbreaking illegal aliens to get free healthcare is tantamount to "burning down a house?

You do know that illegal aliens are totally exempt from paying for Obama-scam and we all foot that bill, right?

The only way dems ever compromise is for pubs to come to them-they never ever shift towards pubs

Excellent characterization of how Barry views/treats 'compromise'.

Seems to contradict your thread title though.

Just in case anyone starts to think 108 is even mildly witty, he stole this from Judd Legum's twitter feed (editor of ThinkProgress). It was a bad analogy for the "journalist" it is equally bad for the plagiarist.

The problem isn't in the 'core ideas'--it's in the details.

As mentioned above, 'romney care' was compromised to its current state--cut to fit MASSACHUSETTS' interests and needs.

THERE WAS NO SUCH NEGOTIATION WITH OBAMACARE.

It was ram-rodded through in the dead of night, with NOT ONE republican--not even a RINO--supporting it--and voted in by EIGHTY members who have since been voted out of office, or otherwise left (notwithstanding the fact that the dems gained seats in '12).

FU politics at its absolute worst.

And Romneycare of course was never something that Republicans in Congress once championed as a good idea...

I will go on record and state there are a lot of things about obamacare that I think both sides will agree on.

The individual and employer mandate will never be one of them.

If the senate and potus do not accept the funding bills that everyone agrees on (NIH anyone?) and choose to keep this shutdown, then that is on them. The HOuse is under no obligation to bow down to this potus or the senate.

The major problem with politics is it has always been a scorched earth policy. I see libs on here every day saying things like "is it any wonder blacks and homos and (insert your minority here) hate the Republicans? No wonder they don't vote for you!!" Its always about getting elected and seldom about doing what is right.

Where are the dems on cutting spending? Where are the dems on obamacare other than forcing everyone but themselves on it.

The mandates and the exemptions are the major problems and if we shut this government down over it, I and a lot of people I know are fine with it. We can't afford it, don't want it, and it sucks.

Laws are meant for everyone, not just the masses while the political elite and select friends are exempt. That is BS.

Well that's easy to fix, just don't use the words "individual mandate". Maybe you can instead describe it the way House Republicans did way back in 2006 when they thought Romneycare was a good idea (see press release in my post above):

    "personal responsibility is expected"

    ^^^who said it wasn't?

Again--as the point seemed completely lost on you--

Not the core ideas--THE DETAILS--is what's wrong with Obamacare.

You keep flaunting Romney care, but missing the point--Romney Care was custom crafted for MASSACHUSETTS.

So is Obamacare, since they cut&pasted the whole damn thing.

Problem is, Obamacare applies to the entire USofA. 300 million ppl. Not 6.5 mil.; and 50 STATES as part of a Federalist system--not just a bunch of cities and counties that are subordinate to the State govm't.

   's in the details.

Barry's FU politics threw the details to the curb, and shoved a system custom fit for a completely different dynamic, down the nation's throat. Obamacare is like trying to cloth a sumo wrestler in a toddler's diaper.

We need a bigger diaper!
