Pretty nasty. Couldn't find anyone smaller to cheap shot? I saw it last night, but I couldn't remember anyone ever being knocked to the ground while wearing a helmet.

I hadn't seen this before. Thanks for posting. What's Clemson/ACC/NCAA doing about it?

I think it was more of an acting job on the part of the NC State player in order for the Clemson player to get a penalty. With those helmets on, it's hard to do any damage and knock a player down.

Do you really think the force of the fist blow with helmet on knocked him to the ground?

I don't know but this is the first I've seen.

Yeah...he took a dive. But throwing the punch has to land him a suspension.

It is not hard at all to get under the facemask, there's a lot of room there.

Took a dive? He got rocked on the chin. That's assault with proof, imo. And a misdemeanor. I'd have no problem with criminal charges being filed. No room for that on the field.

Hell yeah that could knock him out if he got up under the facemask. Which is exactly what it looks like. Pretty big shot.

Doesn't look like he got under the face mask from the gif above.

Yeah there is, especially when looking up. After he got ejected, the camera showed him on the sideline and it looked like he was motioning that he purposely aimed for his chin.. I'd say the little guy felt it instead of taking a dive.

I remember the cloth chin straps, if he was wearing one of those, there's a chance the little guy could have been taking a nap after that punch

That's a heckuva blow. Plus the guy throwing it is a big offensive lineman and the recipient is a smaller DB.

didn't see the game—that guy had to have been ejected, right? that seems worth a suspension also.

That did not look like a clean blow. Big guy lands one like that cleanly while the little guy is not expecting it and his head will not cock back that quickly. But he rolled over and got right up after that. Still, no place for even swinging like that in football.

    Go GATORS!

The way his left knee buckled, if he didn't catch himself, he would have been on his ass right then and there.

Still, no one takes a punch like Richard Sherman

That was a nasty uppercut, and it certainly did get under the mask. The guy takes a pretty good punch.

Oh how I remember taking shots under the facemask. If you think that can't drop a guy you're wrong. Keep in mind it is the violence of the brain's movement inside/against the skull that determines that. And front-to-back movement is one of the most damaging. Heck, it's the reason an uppercut is such a devastating punch.

And it's a Climpson player so he should be suspended for at least six games. That'll really piss off ole Dabo...since the kid's already been paid for twelve.

Deserves some serious punishment for that. If players get ejected & have to sit out a half for a helmet to helmet hit, which can be accidental, he should get a mega penalty for that punch. Gotta give it to him though, looked pretty nimble dancing away after he threw the punch.
