Could be, but I don't think Peterson was interested in the LA scene. Washington seems to fit him better.

Living in LA, can't blame that logic. Love Washington but I dunno.

Well... different priorities for different folks. I get the impression from how he embraced the Boise area he definitely isn't a big city guy or doesn't want that for his family. Udub has the money, tradition and facilities to be contenders with him in charge. I think they'll do well. PAC over all should be a strong conference for awhile with the coaching in place.

All I have ever heard seriously considered by Petersen is west coast schools. I get the feeling he wanted to stay on that side of the country. Probably for family reasons

I'm reading that sentiment alot, and I just don't get it. They didn't go to a bowl game between 2003 and 2009. And the guy who took them to the bowl games since, Sarkisian, is 5 games over .500.

You are what your record says you are, and looking at their record since Neuheisal, they are somewhere between below average and average.

Sounds right. He may just be a Pacific Northwest kind of guy.

I don't see why Washington can't be a powerhouse. Fantastic city. Great facilities. Lots of money in the area.

May just be a case of "one great coach away" from being that. CP may be that guy for them.

UW is the "sleeping giant" of the Pac 10. They're nothing like Duke. UW has won 15 Pac-10 championships and four national championships. All they've been lacking lately IMHO is an outstanding coach and now it looks like they have one.

Seattle is a great city and a great place to live, UW is an excellent school with excellent facilities. Give Peterson a couple years and I think he'll produce some very good teams.

It will be interesting to see if Petersen brings Pease on staff to be his OC, or another role.

Good for them- but don't expect much the past Boise coaches haven't panned out at bigger schools

It would be LUDICROUS if he was hired as anything more than a WR coach for the next few years. His resume, after his stints at Baylor, UK, and now here, is going to preclude him from having a part in playcalling for years to come. Or at least it damn well should lol.

still mad? I think Peterson would no more than anybody else how good a coach Pease is. I would assume if he was hired it would be as a WR coach but you never know.

It has everything you need to become successful. Maybe the coaches there were not that good. Look at Stanford's bad run beforw Harbaugh. UCLA has not been killing it for the past 10 years.

Not mad at all. I don't get mad about this stuff like most of the crazies around here. His hire didn't work out and I hold him no ill will. But based on what I've seen of him, if merit and achievement are the barometers for someone hiring him, then his resume speaks for itself and he has more to learn if he's going to be the sole playcaller for an FBS team.

    From our POV, sure.

But Petersen clearly knows the guy and they both know the "Boise offense". Just think it will be interesting to see.

I actually think he is a good play caller (when he calls plays the Oline can block). I think his problem was implementing the system at UF while dealing with a ton personnel issues. Peterson runs the show for his offense anyways. Now that I think about it Pease would not be that bad of a hire for Peterson. He could show Peterson what went wrong at UF in getting the system in place. But like you if I was Peterson my first offer would be to Pease as a WR coach

UW has the facilities, large passionate alumni base, and sits on far more talent than anyone else in the Pac-12 save USC, UCLA, and Stanford. USC and now UCLA have raided talent from the Seattle area pulling 5 star plays from there over the years. Get a decent coach at UW and he'll lock the recruits down. I can guarantee you that Pac-12 North schools aren't thrilled about this.

Petersen is a Pacific NW kind of guy. He reportedly withdrew his name for the USC job, and I can understand someone wanting to live in Seattle instead of L.A.

UW also had the chance to dominate the PAC-12 North. Seattle is by far, the largest city in the region and produces a good number of talented prep players. Before Uncle Phil bought the Oregon AD with Nike money, UW was top dog. If Helfrich stumbles at all, Peterson could be the right guy to make up the difference at UW.

UW also has upgraded facilities including a complete overhaul of Husky Stadium. And if you ever get the chance to go to a game there, I highly recommend it. Picturesque doesn't do the stadium and area justice, as it's right on the Lake, and people tailgate on boats.
