This according to Kevin Brockway. Egi is a 6-8/6-9 PF from Ontario who will be playing at Monteverde this fall. He's also a top notch student and has a lot of top academic schools on his trail, including Stanford, Cal, Columbia and Harvard. He is currently in the class of 2015, but there are some rumors he will pull a Wilbekin and enroll in a year.

Looks very mobile for a big guy, and already has a lot of muscle. Because he's a Montverde guy, UF should be in a very good position for recruiting.

Great tape and great background music... Chris would fit nicely in Hogtown!

Unfortunately, I think "pulling a Wilbekin" refers to getting suspended twice in your career...

I think the better question is are we on his board and how high?

Wouldn't say Monteverde is a UF leaning school. If the player is from Florida then yes but if they come from out of state then it's open.

UF has signed no one from Monteverde who was not from Florida. I'll also agree with the poster who suggested that Monteverde is exceptional in its academics. I wouldn't have sent my kids there if it was free unless they were world class athletes. We shouldn't knock ourselves out with players who don't show initial interest in UF.

I posted this in another thread but our history with Montverde prior to Kevin Boyle taking over as coach is irrelevant. Billy helped Boyle get that job. Plenty of future Monteverde recruits will be signing with Florida.

Yes, I remember a couple of our insiders being happy when Kevin Boyle was hired at Montverde.
