I don't think kids are allowed any time to be innocent anymore.

Well, if I was a parent there, I'd first curse them out and then flip them off while I take my son either to private school or a charter school. I swear the hippies sure know how to procreate idiots.

Well, it looks like the curriculum is not really about sex. Rather, it is about sexual health. Admittedly, it is unfortunate that the curriculum has to include this information because kids are preyed upon by pedophiles, but I would like them to know what is and is not appropriate touching and to tell an adult when they are touched inappropriately:

Then there is instruction that the world has different family structures:

This isn't "sex ed" a/k/a birds and the bees in kindergarten. It is about how to go to a trusted adult if you're molested and how some kids have different kinds of families. Not quite the impression I got from the OP...

At that age this is information that should come from their parents. No need for it in kindergarten!

It's Great to be a Florida Gator!

Sadly, it is sometimes the parent that is the perpetrator.

or the friend of the Planned Parenthood client.

Obama is calling it "the right thing to do." But I thought we weren't supposed to impose our morals on others.

Or you could opt them out of the class which is up to you. They give you a copy of the curriculum

The "class" basically teaches them about how to respond if made to feel uncomfortable and the different types of family structure. "Not mandatory" for what breaks down to 30 minutes a month. Faux rage at its finest.

Those horrible public school people... trying to protect kids from pedophiles.

How to hell do people turn this into righteous indignation about sex ed?

    Bizarro.

Well we need to keep with the mandated GC thread structure:

    • 1st post: "We should be outraged that [group/person that I'm against] is doing [something draconian and/or inhuman]
    • 2nd-5th posts: "This is another example of [group] being the worst."
    • 6th post: "Actually if you read the whole article, it doesn't seem to be saying that at all"
    • 7th post: "Yeah, but [group] wanted to say that"
    • 8th-12th posts: See posts 2-5
    • [end thread]

    Faux outrage?

Essentially half of this country is against gay marriage, and an even a higher percentage amongst the rest of the planet, and you think that people who are upset that teaching, "Whether that means there’s two moms at home, everyone’s home life is different, and we introduce the fact that we all have a diverse background" are faking it? I would think that if you're an opponent of the homosexual agenda, lifestyle, or even gay marriage in general -- then you're probably against the idea of teaching children that two moms are normal, natural, and okay. What exactly do you think he means when he says, "...two moms?"

But yeah, this whole thing is clearly about educating out kids about potential predators..

"Hey, how could you be upset? This is what's right, you don't want your kid to be kidnapped or touched inappropriately, do you? How could you? No one wants that. That's what this class is all about..

..Also, we'll teach them two moms are okay as well."

50% of the graduates from this same district are illiterate. Guess if you can't teach 18-year olds reading, might as well teach 5-year olds breeding.

That is how the government works these days. Add some crap to something that sounds well intentioned and then express outrage to anyone who opposes the crap that was added on.

Is this an effort to increase school attendance? Can't wait for demonstration day. Can we have show and tell.

Me and Cindy took what we learned and wanted to see if it would work. Cindy played with my wee wee-go ahead and show em Cindy. I Wike Cindy.

Its funny watching each side take the stance of their party. It's like you guys aren't allowed to have your own thoughts.

It must suck to have 100% of your thoughts dictated by your party leaders and their pockets. So sad...
