Strong has ties in recruiting here....let's his offense do its thing...and took Louisville to the Sugar Bowl.

He has the D talent here to keep them elite and deep young blood ready to soar on offense.

I'd take the entire Louisville staff and be fine.

Charlie may not be a sexy pick or even in my top 3.

But he would be a huge upgrade/ improvement over Muschamp. Charlie has cut his teeth as a HC and learned the job of a chief executive. He has proven he knows how to organize a team, hire good coaches and recruit.

He would immediately bring a new level of maturity to the job. Muschamp still thinks he is a DC running around like a lunatic with his lunatic strength coach in his ear on the sideline.Strong and Franklin are everything that Muschamp is not.

Wouldn't go as far as to say he is overrated. If anything he is underrated for all he has accomplished. He has learned more on the fly than Muschamp, and in just as short of time. He has great ties to Florida, can flat out coach defense, and keeps his azz out of the offense.

I think Charlie would be a solid and safe hire.

UCF would kick UF's ass all over the field this year just like Charlie's Cardinals did in January.

I agree with this. I know everyone wants the home run hire, but that might not exist this winter. I get that Strong wouldn't be the first choice of many fans, but it would still be a good hire IF he would leave UL, which I don't think he will.

And to echo an earlier post, yes UL lost to UCF but UCF is pretty good this year (ranked, only loss was by 3 to USCe a game they easily could have won). That isn't a bad loss.

Charlie Strong is a good coach but let's see how he does after Bridgewater leaves.

If we're going to go with a new OC, and that is it for now why not Charlie Taffee? The guy has a great offense at UCF. Great QB (Bortles) who is NFL ready, great passing game, and running game as well. 2 possibly 3 star WR recruits looking like pros, and a QB, who was a 3* with the highest offer coming from UCF itself (Colorado St, Western Kentucky, Tulane) playing like the first pick.

If an OC is the move we are going to make, this is one I like very much.

Don't you think Strong deserves some credit for Bridgewater's progress though? Specifically, hiring the right offensive coaches to bring him along? So much can go wrong in the development of a young QB. Driskel was ranked higher than TB coming out of HS, and it's pretty clear who has panned out more thus far. There was even talk of Teddy moving to WR in college. He's come a long way.

Peterson is not leaving Boise St. He is content there and he is God there. Read their boards - very little discontent.

I don't know if I'm crazy I don't cringe at the thought of hiring Bob stoops, proven, won title, defensive minded but has always had great offense, has ties to florida, and would be a big splash on recruiting trail. Just a thought.

Urban Meyer lost to Ole Miss with a roster full of NFL starters and one of the best college football players (maybe two with Percy) to ever play the game.

You can find a game like this for any coach.

Every single coach is going to have some type of negative to him. If Strongs only negative is that he lost a game to UCF... well I'll take that.

The guy will keep our recruits and probably improve our class. He will bring in an OC that is allowed to run his own offense and our defense wont miss a beat... but dammit he lost to UCF so F that...

That's one of my own major factors for hiring him too. He would recruit Florida like a mad man.

Also, he would be able to adapt a lot of the personnel Muschamp has recruited to his own defensive and offensive philosophies.

And don't think for a moment that Charlie Strong doesn't understand offense. he worked for both Spurrier and Meyer and no doubt he's seen the disaster that has happened at UF this year.
