I don't know, expressing your idea of a dream wedding being an Old South slavery fanstasy seems pretty dumb. As does forking over money to someone who endorses both unhealthy food and diabetes medicine even before we knew she had questionable racial ideas. I'm not sure the fallout added all that much more dumbness to the equation.

Paula should have told the guy, this is one of those questions you should answer yourself before asking others....

A media story giving Charlie Daniels exposure to complain about media coverage of Paula Deen. Kind of ironic to me.

You libs completely missed the point of this thread and apparently don't have a stong enough argument to add anything of substance. Everything Chalie Daniels said is spot on.

So she should have lied and followed the liberals' golden rule, admit nothing, deny everything and demand proof.

if she cared enough about her fame and wealth, she wouldn't have slipped up

right or wrong, this is the price of being the like of her celebrity

the people who pay her do not want this type of publicity to be attached to them

Not 108 but, with the exception of reading a quotation from another person who used it, no.

Most people have in some context. However, most normal people don't answer this question with "Well, of course!" like Paula did. I mean, there are about a zillion better ways to respond to that question.

Celebrities, like the rest of us, are essentially paid via consumers (the public at large), that pay for the products of companies that directly pay the employee.

Those in high profile positions that represent these companies, are held to a high standard to not offend the demographics of the general population (who indirectly pay them). If one doesn't have the self control to do that, then they aren't qualified to be in the position they are in, as its part of the job description.

    What happened to 'personal responsibility'?

Paula Deen's public relations people have done a great job of making this about her and the word "nigger" rather than about the terrible person that her brother is.

The hypocrisy of the OP and Charlie Daniels is almost comical....

If those other stories weren't being covered how would we know anything about what good ole Charlie was talking about?

The news media covers what whatever gets them more ratings.... advertising revenue

Now more so than any other time in history given the advent of the internet and the multitude competitors the more traditional news outlets now have to compete against.

Maybe the issues that Mr. Daniels thinks are the most important aren't the most important to the general masses.

Paula Deen occupied about a minute of the news cycle in this country....

....sounds like a good ole southern boy trying to deflect attention away from prejudiced old southern white woman.
