Honest question, if you are a Crist supporter: are you voting FOR him or to vote against Scott?

I'm an undecided in the governor's race, but if I vote for Crist it will be voting FOR him.

I actually think both were pretty decent governors, but both have the same flaw - a tendency to occasionally engage in stupid political stunts. That said, Charlie's have been mostly on his own time and Scott's have tended more towards ones that occasionally rope the state government into pointless, silly minor controversies IMO - although neither bothers me too much.

But I actually like both, so whichever way I go it will be because I decided they were the better choice, not just holding my nose and picking one as the lesser of two evils.

I'm very curious as to the reasons you consider Crist's era a success in any way. I thought it was only notable for his utter lack of keeping any campaign promise (like fixing the homeowner's insurance mess by drawing upon his experience as Insurance Commissioner) and spending most of his time on photo ops and positioning himself for the next office (Senator or VP). He seemed to me to be one of the worst Governors Florida has ever had.

I didn't like Rick Scott but think he has done a pretty good job making tough choices as fairly as possible. At least he had a backbone to take a position and (usually) stick to, unlike the Human Jellyfish, Charlie Crist.

Disclosure: I am no fan of Charlie Crist anyway because he stole $10,000 in printed campaign materials early in his career from my brother, but correct where I am wrong about anything I write about that useless, phony, empty suit poser.

Anyone see that hbo (I think?) special about gay politicians?
Charlie Crist literally ran his male lover out of state when he ran last time so he wouldn't be discovered, at least according to several people interviewed.
Setting aside the whole question of his sexuality, really made him out to be a slime ball.

No way am I voting for Crist for a lot if reasons. To begin with he's about as dishonest as it comes.

As for Scott, he lost me when he killed the high speed rail on I 4. I had a strong interest in that and attended a lot of community meetings about it. Going back to my many years as I worked for NWA at various airports and was interested in what I saw in those areas that had high speed rail and other places I visited. And studied it in those places that had it also.

I'll probably use the "write in" vote option for Paula Dockery in the November State Election for Governor of Florida. She was my State Senator who was term limited and a strong advocate and supporter of the I 4 High Speed Rail. In the GOP Primary, Scott has 2 lady opponents. I'll be checking them out to see which one will get my vote there.

.It's simple ............... leftie lawyers love leftie lawyers, almost as much as they love themselves. Well, except for the clintons and the obamas .... seems to be a lot a hate between those 2 couples of leftie lawyers. What a mess that foursome is.

Nope. I don't support people who fire teachers and give their salaries to their cronies as bribes.

Florida is doing better than almost every state by economic measures. However the fact that he is a Republican - some people on this board would vote for Hitler before they vote for a Republican.

I'll vote against Crist the primary, but I'll basically be voting against Scott in the election, though Charlie has taken a few more liberal positions since his last iteration as candidate.

Funny how Scott is the one who actually gave teachers a raise/bonus between the two...

Wow, with his poll numbers underwater and an upcoming election he could easily lose, he dug deep and gave teachers a raise. Inspiring stuff, there. :)

I am also with mb and disagree with Ray in that derailing the high speed rail was a good move by Scott...

    Just pointing it out. :)

Don't know his reasons but I certainly concede that was likely part of it. But it does not make sense because most teachers are brainwashed by the union anyways and will despise Scott regardless.

The teachers union is pretty toothless in FL. I just think he could not be the guy who cut $2billion from education a win reelection. Hence the restoration of some of the cuts, teachers raises, tepidly supporting medicaid expansion, etc.

Well we disagree on education. While we probably agree on certain parts the spending part I am sure we disagree on. We spend more and more as a country and seem to get less and less. And education in Florida is basically about where it was before Scott took over imo.

As we hopefully continue to grow the economy we can grow education. And that does not necessarily mean monetarily. :)
