    its FSU/UF

You aren't a fan if you don't get excited for that, no matter the state of the teams.

PS: Pleasantly surprised how this thread hasn't degraded into a "LULZ GATOOORZ HAVE NO CHANCE THEY R THE SUXOR, FIRE MUSCHUMP" thread

    ......yet <_<

Good point. If our defense plays to its potential, we have an excellent chance. Defense is about heart, and to quote Marty Schottenheimer, if you can't get fired up for this game, the pilot light is out.

It was tongue in cheek. I'm up for every game. We actually had a party at our house for the SC game.

I bet if UF beats them, the Rapeis investigation suddenly starts becoming important again....

Obviously the only thing that concerns me is our O (shocker). I thought our D played damn well against SC yet we still lost. Two plays turned that game; the very long run where we had them backed up on their own 5 and the 4th and 2 TD play were killers.

UF matches up well against FSU, because UF's offensive philosophy plays into the blueprint to exploiting FSU's weaknesses. FSU has undersized starting linebackers that were fits for the last defensive scheme, but not necessarily so in the current one. You can run right at them.

Pruit likely will be bringing back a 5-2 look for that game, to get his big boys all on the line to try and take on the power packages of UF. Judging the way the defense has looked this season, they seem much more comfortable in the 3-4 or 4-2-5 looks than the 5-2. We'll see how much they have improved.

Our defense needs to play really well from the very start of the game. Special teams needs to turn things up at least one notch, preferably two. One of our QBs needs to step up like Marcus "the Rooster" Outzen did for FSU against us in 1998.....another loss that still burns in my memory. We need to be more disciplined and not get into a brawl pre-game like we did that day though. I hope our O-line is going to be tough and disciplined, I do not want to see that gator head being paraded around the Swamp after the game.

Morrison was out for USCe and the rest of the year with an injury. Not much he will be able to do for us.

Chances are good. We will play like we have nothing to lose. FSU has a potential national title berth on the line. Florida is their last major test. All the pressure is on them. They will most likely play tight at the beginning of the game or if the game is close. Our guys should be pretty loose. We've got to take advantage of that and get on the board quickly, like we did with SC.

Jameis has played well under pressure but has not faced a fast, aggressive defense like ours. He'll have that to deal with, along with whatever personal adversity he is dealing with due to the rape allegations. How much of his time in the next couple of weeks is going to be spent with his lawyer? That is a major distraction. In addition, he'll have to deal with a very large and hostile crowd. And there will no doubt be a large contingent of fans calling him names like Rapeis and holding up signs like "Nole means nole," constantly reminding him of the turmoil going on in his life right now.

I think we have a good chance. A lot of it rides on how well Jameis can tune things out and just play. I give us a 50/50 shot.

right now I would say 15%. If TM gets his shoulder ready, and can throw it. UF has a sluggers chance.

Not that I'm predicting a game score, but I think Vegas will set the line somewhere around 3 tds

If we can't throw it at least a little we have no shot.

Our plan to win depends on the defense scoring points and/or creating turnovers in our opponents red zone.

As depleted as we are offensively, it is the only hope we have to keep this game close.

It could happen for UF, but the odds are still heavy against it. Id' say 1 in 4 chance for UF.

On paper, UF has the better talent based on the last two recruiting classes, but in fsu's favor, they have not felt the sting of season-ending injuries to seven of their starters, including their starting QB (Winston), and fsu's team is playing with a ton of focus, confidence, and believe in what their coaches are doing.

OTOH, UF is a mentally and physically beat team with a very insecure psyche. Just one or two things go wrong for UF and the avalanche will begin for the Gators and they'll fall apart.

Simply put, fsu is clearly a better team than we are this season.
