I think we have top 5-8 talent but very few of the guys expected to play major minutes next year were really on the court together for extended periods of time this year. You really never know how a team that has to replace four starters is going to gel.

Yes, but the core of the team will have been in BD's system for close or over 2 years.
DFS, Harris, Fraiser, D. Walker, Carter, Graham - starting their 3rd year w/ program
    Hill - starting 2nd year
    C. Walker, Murphy 1.5 years

as Billy said last year, not having to teach the defensive and offensive playbooks to everyone is huge in pre-season & summer practices.

Can't blame writers for forgetting about Harris. Damontre's the one who put himself in witness protection.

Why? This team can be another top-notch group on defense, with the length it brings. It'll be a strong rebounding team too. If we can get one or two more guys hitting shots consistently, we're right there.

I like our team next year, but I am expecting a totally different style of ball with the players that we will have. I expect a lot faster tempo on offense and a pressing D looking move for turnovers and less on making the other team use up time on the shot clock. Look for more games in the 80's and fewer in the 60's next year.

What I expect will be "fan"-tastic and showy, but much less able to grind out close games in the last few minutes than this year's team.

This is my take on it, but Billy gets to play with the cards that he is dealt and he is a lot smarter about these things than I am.

    It should be fun.

Jeff Goodman, FWIW, recently said that its not a given Andrew H. would be the starting PG if he returns next year because of how good the tiny freshmen is. I think it'd be a given, but Ulis is better than what many are expecting IMO.

That being said, UK is a big question mark next year without the Twins or Young returning. Barring some transfer guard with immediate eligibility (like the low character kid they're considering), it'd be another high ceiling/low floor year just like this one.

I still think the twins are gone.

Not sure why so many of you are saying "not top 5" or whatever. What are you compared Florida to next year? Are you saying they just don't have the feel or the look of a top 5 team? You've gotta remember that saying that means you're pretty confident that you could name 5 better teams. I'm not confident about that.

I except UK to get to the tourney next year, but no one makes the final 4 with a 5'9 point guard. You eventually run up against a team where you can't hide him on defense.

Calvin Murphy in his old age and 4 NBA bound college players would crush everyone. 40-0 would be real.

We were very close twice with a 5 8 point guard.

Close only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades.

Some of these guys just grew up in a hurry.

Except Hill is a better PG than Scottie.
Walker will be a big surprise in the paint.
    Prather was hot and cold.
And Will just simply did not have the offense.
I hope Billy finally learned to rest his players a bit more during tourney time.

We're going to have a ton of raw talent next season (possibly even more than this season), but I do think Top 5 is a bit of a stretch. We're going to need guys like Hill, Devon, and Finney-Smith to make huge strides with their jump shots if we're going to be elite.

Hill may be better than Wilbekin eventually, but he won't be next year. Can't even get my mind around what you could mean with the last comment.
