The end is near my friends... start packing... Lee a "voice of reason"... lol She's certifiably insane!

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jul/29/cbc-recommends-sheila-jackson-lee-homeland-securit/

ust two weeks after Janet Napolitano announced her resignation as Secretary of Homeland Security, the Congressional Black Caucus has suggested Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston fill her spot.

A letter dated July 25 and signed by Rep. Marcia Fudge, Ohio Democrat and caucus chairwoman, urges President Obama to consider Miss Jackson Lee for the position, calling the Democrat a “voice of reason” that the agency could stand to gain, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Maybe she's not the best person for the job, but I'm not sure what disqualifies her either. This seems like one of those things where if you're not outraged by the mere prospect of the name being floated by the CBC, then you probably aren't the target audience for the article.

I honestly have no idea. Secretary of DHS seems like one of the least necessary bureaucratic jobs in existence. She could be perfect for it for all I know. I mean we all remember the valuable contributions and important decisions made by luminaries such as Michael Chertoff, Tom Ridge and Janet Napolitano.

This is the same woman who is famous for her profanity-filled screaming fits at her own office staff for years.

The woman is ultra anti-white, a race-baiter, and emotionally unstable to boot.

Why in the world would anyo0ne suggest her for a job in anything except a straight jacket?

If you're implying that we need to do away with DHS completely, we finally agree on something. Rewarding a dunce with any position of any kind of authority is something we can't agree on.

Why do we even still need a CBC? Doesn't its existence at this point make matters worse?

Is there a Congressional Jewish Caucus, or women, or Asian or gays?

You can't keep ostracizing yourself and then claim that you're being ostracized. Enough already.

While I think the lady is a complete lunatic, borderline violent and a racist I do not have any outrage at this article. CBC is SUGGESTING her for the position. If anything this just shows how out of touch the CBC is.

Now if it comes out that she is actually being considered or is being given the job...well then my tone will change. At this point I have to hope those making these decision just smile, nod and laugh behind closed doors at such an absird suggestion.

There are 2 Hispanic caucuses, and an Asian/Pacific-American caucus. There are religious caucuses, various partisan caucuses (progressive, blue dog, tea party), and there's even a bike caucus.

Wow. I did not know that. And i kind of doubt I needed too. ( NOt a barb at you wgb.) Seriously. Why do we need all these caucuses? Why do we need lobbyist? It seems the point is to get a small group of people an advantage over the rest. Oh well.

Some people have common legislative goals and concerns, I don't see what the harm is in meeting about it. Most of them aren't terribly exclusive clubs either.

Somebody must want her seat at the State of the Union speeches so they can get on tv shaking the President's hand.

I can see that. I think some of those caucuses may have a bigger agenda then that, well may morph into something with a bigger agenda than that. But I can see the value I ghuess. But I see no value in Ms. Lee

Perhaps the CBC should nominate Corrine Brown for the post? If you are going to recommend a screw ball, why stop at Lee? Go all out. Gogata.

I haven't studied her much, but from the little I've read, it seems like we could do better.

I think it's kind of their call rather than ours.
