Well, Gainesville can't hold a candle to Starkville.
Great post Candy, agree with a good solid A for this class. Was actually very pleased in the end with how close we came to some of the missed big dogs. Just a tad late getting on them. Very encouraging for next year. Missing on Tannor, Johnson, Boykin, Gerald was a real bummer. Great versatility with the DB signings. There's play this year with all of them. Pretty much figured we would only get 1 of 3 Bigs for the OL. Still a very nice haul. Excellent WR haul, Copeland took it over the top. The RB pick ups are rock solid. QB speaks for itself. Langham and Chatfield excellent gets for the TG's 3-4. Still think Lang will move to OLB slot. May be a few more flips O to D and Watkins, Clement at KR/PR are possible, need big time help there.
As a bit of a side note, think losing out on QB Wyatt Rector was a mistake. Get it, certainly not very popular with many. Could easily have played QB, TE or OLB. At minimum he should have been offered a Perfered Walk On. Was he even offered a spot by the Gators staff ? Think he waited till the very end with at least the hope one would show up.
Do very much want give a shout out to All the Gator staff for all the hard work put in on the fly. Excellent job on this class, very much look forward to next year. Thanks .
Notice which school the older and most likely wiser person picked.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
That's a good group but Mullen will have to go out of state for most of the LB and DL talent. It's not a great group outside of IMG and we're still struggling to break into that school. Might be the same with OL. Love the in-state talent at RB and WR.
And people heap praise on his defensive genius -- SMH at that colossal failure of a coach
Just read through the names to know for 2019. Good Lord, if Kaiir Elam is anything like his uncle Matt, please be a Gator. Matt Elam was one of my favorite Gators to watch EVER. I've watched the 2012 LSU game multiple times just to watch Matt. That guy was/is such a BA.
Too bad drugs and distractions took his focus off the NFL game.
Thanks for everything Candy.
This class was 5 players away from being outstanding- NPF, two DL, one LB, one lock down CB.
FWIW I think Chatfield is an OLB, occasional rush DE. 6'2 215lb HS Seniors rarely, if ever, grow to DL.
Chatfield was 240 last time he visited campus.
Not even close to what the Vols signed in 2000. 2 USA Today 1st team AA's and a 2nd team. Plus Trey Jernigan who wasn't too shabby. And Jason Witten was the TE. Jeez. Looks like the dumb dwags came close to that class though.
I'm not even sure what you're talking about in this post. A little bit of hyperbole was used to accentuate a point.
During the recruiting season we were strongly involved w, leaders/favorites/commits, etc..
Dunlap, Jr (img)
There were a few others that I can't recall at the moment. So to reiterate my point, at various points throughout the cycle we were in an excellent position with several of those OL.
Thanks for the info but it seems irrelevant to the point I was making.
Here you go brother. Here's a list to get you going a bit!! It was put together by a genius.
A little bit?
It could mean their biscuits were bi-sected meaning laid open face with sausage gravy poured over top. Okay I got to stop cause I'm getting hungry now. Let's not turn Skeeter's into something they're not.
It would have been a great marketing tool. You could get 2 biscuits but each had to be different. One, with egg, crisp bacon and cheddar and the second with red eye gravy and country ham. YUMMMMMMMMMMMM...
That’s what coach said in his PC. Nice ILB size
He was 240 on his visit, kids not small. I think he plays stand up but mostly attacks the qb. Watkins will begin as a cb, where I expect him to be a first round draft pick. Kids an athlete.
Great stuff. We also need to hit GA hard(recruiting wise & on the field), imho.
I thought Chatfield was a guy that hunted down QBs?
