Does his stubborness to run this current philosophy get in the way of him making major changes and strides on the offensive side or does he think all is needed is a few tweeks here and there.

That will be the question this offseason on whether we will be successful next year....

Well Pease is running the same O that he ran at Baylor...so Will knew what he was getting.

I think we will see something change...but I doubt its philosophical. Will wants to pound the rock and play good defense. Like it or not...that where we are.

    Will it ever work?

I think if you can just replay the games in black and white they will make more since.

Maybe even have the players wear leather helmits.

It will take a while before we can know the answer, due to personnel limitations. In the deepest, darkest recesses of my heart, I really believe that if he had the necessary tools at his disposal, we would see an existent (even if not prolific) vertical passing game. Even when the team was at full strength, there just didn't seem to be any confidence in the receivers, and possibly in the lines ability to pass block.

How about we just accept in black and white the fact that this years team has been beleaguered with injury and attrition from the outset of the season.

I think Will Grier in time will make Muschamp look good offensively just like Jameis Squintston makes Jimbo look good.

Why didn't we just cancel the season then?

Why? Life goes on regardless of what happens to our football team.

The good news: Florida is #1 in the NCAA in time of possession. The bad news: time of possession as an underlying philosophy doesn't work well in terms of wins and losses. Alabama comes the closest to that, and they don't aim as much for time of possession as they simply achieve it by executing a balanced offense. By comparison, teams like Baylor and Oregon are near the bottom of the NCAA in time of possession, and yet they are near the top in terms of wins and chances for major bowl games. Only three teams in the top 10 of TOP are in the BCS rankings. Six teams ranked #97 or lower in TOP are in those rankings. The average TOP ranking for the BCS teams is 54th, at 30:24. Muschamp loves TOP. If he loves wins more, he must go more for points, even if his defenses allow more points.

^Muschamp says TOP is not a stat that wins you football games. The fans love talking about TOP though

He says one thing, but the actions of the offensive scheme dictate something else completely. Florida has not run an up-tempo offense since he arrived. This is a horizontal, not a vertical, offense. Honestly, last year I wasn't thrilled with the results. Each week, I could see that Florida was a play or two each week from losing. This year the bounces went against the Gators (clearly).

How do his actions say another? You talk about TOP he never does. We dont really have the personnel to be a vertical team this year with the Oline and WR's. Of our starting WR's who can win a 50/50 ball? With Oline injuries how long can we hold the Dline back?

When we have gone deep it has been mass protect and man coverage usually off of play action. Also it is with a 2nd string QB with a small arm.

Now his actions in recruting say he wants to go vertical. He recruited two WR's last year that are vertical threats and another one coming in this class. They also took a QB last cycle with a big arm.

We have shown no commitment to having a competent passing game, and that trend will never change under Muschamp. He is a poor man's Gene Stallings.

Have to disagree with you here, he talks about time of possession all the time. Just this past weekend he said this about the game:

This is fairly typical statement for him. I don't think it is unfair for people to talk about TOP as much as they do.
