Over the weekend and it is not that big of a headline yet the Zimmerman case is like the crime of the century? The black activist are up in arms about an isolated shooting which involved what they thought was a white male (turns out to be hispanic) shooting of a black teen yet the systemic black on black violence is like an afterthought or at least compared to Martin/Zimmerman case. I found this read to spell it out pretty good.................

Because the Reverends Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson along with their co-conspirators, the Main Stream Media Members, did not stage a rally outside their buddy Rahm's office. PERIOD.

If Trayvon was a dope smoking, thug, white kid, how many of us believe this case would be news worthy? Hell, Zimmerman would not have been charged. He was not going to be charged until the race baiters got involved. What a shame. You know the jury is under extreme pressure to convict him of something. Stupidity? Is that a crime? If so, 20% of those on too hot (lefty libbies) would be in jail.

that's what gets me when we have these periodic complaints about so much Zimmerman coverage. We've had three threads on the trial, one for each week, with hundreds or thousands of comments from people who appear to be paying a whole lot of attention.
I'm guessing that indicates some level of interest.

It seems rather obvious the complaint is not too much Zimmerman coverage, but a lack of coverage of the multitudes of other killings that occur nightly in places like Chicago.

Because thousands of people are murdered every year. To get attention (media or otherwise), there needs to be a unique (be it salacious or not) aspect to the killing.

In this case it was to a large degree the eye-opening revelation (for a lot of people) that "stand your ground" defenses exist.

I mean how many people were murdered the year OJ was arrested? OJ's case was compelling because he was a celebrity. How dumb would it sound if someone said "how come more people care about the OJ case?"

Like, there's no way people would ever need to ask that question in earnest.

    Makes sense.

In this case, it's the pseudo whitey killing the thug. Makes for good theater and keeps racism alive by it's peddlers.

Black on black killing, not so much.

I think Jodie Arias and Casey Anthony got more discussion here than random murders in Chicago. Not sure what the angle is of threads like this.

They dont get local coverage? Something tells me the writer of the article didnt do much searching to see if the stories were covered locally. MY guess is people in Chicago are pretty concerned with crime in Chicago. People elsewhere? Not so much, unless it was done by an attractive woman, a serial killer, or some other sensational angle.

One point that I was trying to make is that folks like Jesse and Al Sharpton need to address the main problem with violence against young blacks. Until they attempt to get young blacks to stop killing other young blacks their outrage at Zimmerman seems like nothing more than their typical grandstanding.

Yeah, their gun laws are so restrictive that only the criminals can get their hands on them... Pathetic!

Please don't tell me you HAD to go back to 84 to find something. Surely there is something more relevant.
