First off let me go ahead and say happy birthday to you CaptUSMCNole. Thank you for your service.

Secondly, I feel that the timing of us changing coaches if we do at all will affect whether or not these commits trust the new staff and the future of the program but right now it seems as though all of them are tight and solid.

It's true the University of Florida doesn't need Grier, Cook or Lane. But I think they're important players-especially Cook-in helping Muschamp retain his job over time. Cook is really the only one I can see having a huge impact on the team next season, and Florida badly needs a guy who can make plays out of the backfield.

I wouldn't say that Cook is the equivalent of Harvin, but he can score pretty much anytime he gets the ball in his hands. He would be a dynamite pickup.

We def DO need those guys.... We don't need Cooke, Grier or lane??? How's it working out without them? Oh ya I guess it's injuries right? We need them in the worst way.
    - Grier is our future qb atleast we can hope( I don't get my hopes up anymore after getting driskel and the other guy who
Were both top 5 qbs coming out of high school and were both busts) , Cooke has breakaway speed which is something our current running backs lack at least it seems that way and lane to go with fulwood and Robinson seems like a qbs dream if he can only have time to throw the ball.....I think it's a must to add offensive weapons to our offense because we lack any kind of explosive plays...I'm sick of watching other teams break long plays and actually have a offense. Ours is depressing especially being we our the U of F! I guess champ should just focus on getting big uglies up front to block and we would be a lot better. Our oline and d line is just horrible. Go watch bamas time to throw the ball....ridiculus compared to us

We had weak recruiting classes in 2011 and 2012. We can not afford to have a weak recruiting class in 2014. Would be too big of a void. Think if we had not lost out on Diggs and Nelson Ag. Those were huge losses and we thought we might get them both and thought we would certainly get one of them (diggs). It would cripple our program to miss out bigtime on the 2014 class because this will lay our foundation for the future when it is backed up with the 13 class. I don't care if you bring in Bill Belechik were gonna be in big trouble if we don't finish this years class off the right way. It may not affect us next year but it will in 15 and 16

    Excellent post...
Yea... losing out on both Diggs and Aglohor (sp) was a real blow.
Diggs going to Maryland was a real head scratcher for me....

Even though I was hoping so much for Pittman, (the local kid from Ocala) and Raphael... they both are not doing a lot as of yet.

I can't believe what I'm reading- revisionism at its best.

Before this thread nobody in their right mind even insinuated we could lose Grier and Cook and be fine. The opposite has been trumpeted, and with good reason. Those two players are crucial. We need them no matter who our coach is next season.

You can dislike Muschamp's product enough to want to believe they are expendable but they are not.

We might need new offensive Assts to progress with them, that's true. The OL committed +1 are crucial as well. Lane may not be as critical.

Really starting to feel like cook wont end up in this class. The fsu is SOOO important this year. I think that game could seriously determine how we finish with some of these prospects.

And so it begins... RT "@joshnewberg247: 5-Star WR Ermon Lane says UF commitment at "80%". Has FSU no.2 behind UF right now."

If cook and lane flip is that the last straw for Muschamp?

I've never heard of a coach being fired for that and on its face it seems ludicrous. However, if he doesn't have Cook on the field next year to help the offense it could easily mean his demise.

Our only hope is that Grier can pull a Driskel and keep the class together for the new coach. If a kid wants to commit to a coach instead of a college, he is not the right kid for us. A winning coach can leave them just as fast as a fired coach. Ask Matt Elam.

Disregard. This quote was taken from an FSU recruiting guy, and Lane tweeted at the author:

OMG! While true in the case of Jeff, it was Meyer's fault for the lack of development of Tebow, Newton, and Brantley!

Quincy is the Nick Washington of this class. He is always positive. I believe he is the one holding all the South Florida recruits together..
