I don't know what the right thing to do is but I know that we have to keep our elite offensive skill position players that are coming intact. Next years Florida roster will be very talented and our personnel will finally be back to where it should be here at Florida.

    QB - Driskel, Murphy, Grier
RB - Taylor, Lane, Jones, Cook
WR - Fullwood, Robinson, Alvin Bailey, Thompson, Lane

We haven't seen skill position players on the offensive side of the ball this good since 08. Whatever we gotta do to keep these guys for this year is critical for us. Even if that means Muschamp stays. I'm fine with giving him until next year to prove it on the field with his guys he brought in because this will be a top 5 nationally roster (defense included). If someone could convince me that we could bring in a top level coach and keep all of these guys then I am ok with that too. I must admit I'm on the fence as far as our coaching future goes but I in no way want to compromise our players for this recruiting cycle for it. Muschamps last 2 classes offensively has been stellar (13 and 2014).

Proceed to hammer away at me now for even hinting that we keep Champ.

I won't. If we had a great innovative coach in mind who could keep this class intact, I'm all for it. The guy doesn't exist right now. A good business decision is to give Will another year. People are pretty impatient these days though.

    ^^This

And, if we get the right coach, we may not even lose them.

Add Goolsby to the list. Nice nucleus of offensive talent we have. The offense is going to be fine, assuming we keep the recruits above no matter who the coach is.

That nucleus is far better than anything Meyer left behind.

Grier is a gator under any circumstance, which helps us keep the other offensive recruits who he played a big role in recruiting. Cook was supposedly looking around, so who knows maybe a new staff would help with him. I can't imagine if we sit with WM and continue to put this offense out that we will be able to keep a lot of our key recruits. They have seen WM's potential on offense and it is not pretty. Plus the new coach can always keep T-rob.

Grier and Cook I think are special talents. Lane, while I think is a nice player, is probably more replaceable with the dearth of wide receiving talent in the state. Plus an innovative offense can create very productive receivers.

Grier I think is a Gator no matter what. Cook is the one that might flip.

Willing to take a chance with a new proven coach than with some recruits who have a good chance of being busts anyway due to the current hCs track record

Agreed. A new staff is a bigger priority. If we hire a good staff, those 3 will stay in any case...

Our 2011 and 2012 classes were deficient. I don't see how a coaching change could work if we lose those guys. There's just nothing to build on and a new coach would likely take a couple seasons to replace three players that good. Then we need two more to get them ready. This is really a conundrum... glad I'm not Foley.

If we want to change coaches and be good again in a couple seasons I think those three plus our OL committed are crucial.

We are getting absolutely nothing from our 2010, 2011, and 2012 classes. Our 2013 class and 2014 class is what is suppose to bring us back from the dead. Urban did not bring in elite offensive talent like Champ has last year and is doing now. We desperately need these guys in this class. That will give us back to back top notch offensive classes. Then, if next year doesn't work out and we fire champ then we at least have a quality roster. If we miss out this year we are toast.

I get ya, AZ. I'm in the same boat. I think we are taking a big risk giving Muschamp another year, but it's not a risk I'm opposed to taking.

I think this is very accurate but would add that it seems that several of the UF commits are very close and that is what is keeping Cook in the fold.

I will be very honest in saying that I really, really want Cook to flip to FSU but it seems that his friendship with other UF is a big factor in him remaining committed to UF. I think that is something that will be very hard for the FSU staff to overcome.
