Maybe you're right. Perhaps I failed to listen to the part you're referring to, where he says he is not satisfied where we are at and gives reasons for it. Is that in the audio portion? I only read the article, and didn't see anything like that in it.

This is at least part of the reason we have trouble holding on to our coaches.

Just because "multiple people here" and perhaps Brent Pease himself have explained why we don't have a more exciting offense doesn't mean I "obviously reject and/or don't understand" the explanations. I can honestly say I have not seen the explanations you're talking about.

    Nothing worse than the media.

And the media is spoiled little wannabes now, using internet memes and getting their "reliable sources" from internet forums.

Bowling Green's defense was ranked 79th in 2011 and 6th in 2012 after returning 9 starters; Toledo's defense was ranked 109th last year and returned only four starters. Not all mid-majors are created equal.

You're correct., they're not equal. Toledo is better than Bowling Green by virtue of the fact they've beaten them 3 straight years.

Last year, Pease did a good job against UGA and FSU when it was time to drive the field.

    IMO

    True.

Also true that we had ~240 yards of offense at the half this year... and against BGSU, we had less than 200 yards entering the 4th quarter.

There was a big difference in how we executed, even if the opponent's defense wasn't as strong.

This was so much better watching than reading the transcript or summary. He doesn't sound defensive to me, more focused and a little impatient with those who don't get what he actually sees.

His candor and ready detail about each player is refreshing. It isn't coach speak.

I think controlling the game by keeping the other team off the field is a great strategy and works well.

GATORAZ, I don't understand the reason for your hostile tone. In your last post you said:

So I politely responded that I have not heard him say WHAT YOU SAID he said, and asked if it was in the audio portion. And in response you say, "he has to say those exact words to you? WOW."

Umm, no, he doesn't have to say those exact words. You are the one who said Pease has expressed that he is "not satisfied where we are at" and has given reasons for it. I'm not concerned with the exact words he used. I simply asked where you got your information from, that's all. You posted a link to a 23 minute interview. Is it in there somewhere? Around what time does he start talking about that?

Agreed. But we also were in command of the game Saturday unlike Bowling Green a year prior, while we were also without the service of our starting back (and according to the staff it really isn't close for second) and we were from the outset (as Muschamp stated Monday of last week) trying to control the tempo with our power running game and an efficient pass attack to keep our defense off the field in hot weather against a no huddle offense, all the more important given the quantity of suspensions on the defensive side of the ball and the impending trip to Miami this week. Seems like we met our goals in every area.

We are talking defense here. Not Toledo's high-powered offense that averaged over 450 yards per game against BGSU. How many yards did WE gain against BGSU last year?

365 yards - nearly a hundred yards less than Toledo. The Rockets lost to us because we have a superior defense to their offense. BGSU is still a mid-major.

We don't have Toledo's talent level on offense, maybe in a few years with good recruiting we can reach the Rockets talent level but we're not there yet.

"I look at it, compared to what we did last year… We controlled the ball for 40 minutes, finished the game with the last 6:38 on the clock. We rushed for 262 [yards]; we passed for 77 percent..."

That's certainly good enough for me.

Well since you've already taken the time, why not do me a favor and direct me to the part where Pease says what you say he said? Which, again, was that he's not satisfied with where the offense is at, and gives reasons for it.
