Where are you getting that? We are definitely in the lead for Price-Martin, probably the favorites for Black and Abu, and we have an outside (though I am pretty pessimistic about it) shot at Looney. Norris is a shooting wing. Didn't see anyone else say differently. It is only June. Lots of shoes left to drop between now and the end of summer.

He has been a top priority for us all year and I would be shocked if he chose to go across country with an offer here. Not saying it can't happen, but I would be surprised. Sounds to me like we just need to close on this one.

Highly doubt MPM goes out of state. If he does, it's cos his "handlers" push him that way.

Here's what I know about Brandone Francis

    1. Can play the 1,2,3 spots
    2. His high school coach, Rex Morgan, says Brandone reminds him of Deron Williams of the Brooklyn Nets. Pretty good company to be compared to.
    3. Will be the 1st Arlington Country Day prospect to enroll at UF since David Huertas, who later trasferred to Ole Miss.
    4. Has the potential to be the best that Rex has ever coached. Strong since Rex has coached some great players.
    5. He's a much better ball handler than Huertas.
    6. One of the nicest and most well-liked kids in school.
    7. Could be a one and done...yes, he's that good!

This is a good day for Gator Nation after all the negative Ahern stuff that's been posted.

I think he is a good pickup.

Of course, the recruiting needs for 2014 are at every position (we may see as many as 6 guys leave after the 2013 season), so it is good to get at least the guard spots in early.

Yep give me a class of:

    Guard: Chiozza, Francis
Wing: Barnett or Norris or Winslow
Post: two of Abu or Black, Looney, Okafor, Price-Martin

    1. I know Bullis says no way on Winslow, but I also know that playing for a coach for USA basketball can change things.

    2. I do not what a class of two 6'7" "bigs" even though they are both very talented.

    3. I know UF did not make Okafor's pre-U19 basketball experience list, but that can certainly change with him getting a real look at playing for Donovan.

I don't know what definition you are applying to "bigs." Black is a combo forward who can play either spot in our system. Black is a monster on the glass like Yeguete, but he is still growing and recently measured at 6'8". If those were our only two post players on the roster, then it might be a problem, but I would take them in a heartbeat if they wanted in this class.

Francis is older than most prospects I guess he is going to be 20 in September of his freshmen year of college.

Macklin was I think 25 when he was drafted. I thought age would get him to jump the first year he could, ie the first year he played and had good numbers at UF. It did not. Still if you are implying it might lead to Francis going sooner rather than later, you could easily be right.

I never like seeing this. Having a year to year and a half age advantage could skew how good he is in relation to other players. It may also mean there isn't as much room for improvement.

Kids are all over the place in age in basketball recruiting. I think it just shows he is filling out nicely and out of the awkward stage I don't see him growing anymore. You can def see his body and coordination change from last year this time to this year. I dont think his athleticism will improve much but there is always room for improvement in his overall game . You see players in the league get better and better each year.

From what I have seen he has all of the tools and is now just refining his game. More than anything you can see he "has the goods". There is no real projecting like you would do with others players

Wasn't implying anything was just pointing it out but you are right it might impact his decision
