i'd put miami in the 'locked' position [no joking around, either]. when you look at the metrics. seems like some of the bractologists might ship the canes across country, though.

florida could be in, based on rpi and sos....but could easily be out based on record and last 10 games.

Yeah, the NCAA has the theory that a plane ride is a plane ride, so we usually get shipped far away when we don't host since there is literally no host within a bus ride.

Would be surprised if we were in given our overall record, conference record, last ten games, and the games we lost to teams we were fighting for those final few spots with.
Crazier things have certainly happened though, we will know in 15 hours or so.

It's all going to come down to what matters more: overall strength of schedule, record against top 25 rpi teams...or...overall record, stretch run

I'll pay attention tomorrow, but I'm still expecting us to have played our last baseball for the season.

Dont forget name on jersey. Lets hope they dont reach down the rpi rankings and take an Arizona, Stanford type team.. Even Ok St has a skeptical resume IMO, but I have them in b/c I dont think theyll leave them out.

What? Why? Why would we want to give freebies to teams that somehow pissed away their advantage in resources? Give the spots to up and coming programs that actually had success on the field.

I can agree with the UGA series argument, but that's just silly calling TAMU a "first year conference program". They are, and have been, a solid baseball program and they threw a stud pitcher. The fact they have been in a different conference makes no difference.
As to recruiting....some bad luck on guys that got hot and unexpectedly improved their draft status. But this season was a result of a perfect storm of events. Brutal schedule, injuries, disappointing season from some guys that were supposed to step up, and massive losses due to success of previous 3 years.
To say the program is right back where it was totally discounts the last 3 incredible seasons and does not consider the talent coming in for next season (and beyond). The recruiting class coming in will be huge contributors almost immediately.

Hopefully this is true because if there aren't 4-5 guys who are starters coming in, it could be another bumpy ride.

Baseball America makes the case for FLORIDA over Auburn in their final projection:

Of course they had A&M out as well.
