Me too. I was like please for once don't bail out the other team with a cheap foul. Thankfully they didn't. lol

I am not going to get into that Butler game. That was easily the worst referee performance ever.

The last shot by Memphis was not in Luckie's primary it was De Rosa's primary area. If he made a foul call he would have definitely been reprimanded...officials make mistakes calling out of their primary area during games all the time but not usually on the last shot of the game...that will get you in trouble. I believe the goal tending call against Prather was called by the lead offical under the basket which is a big no no..that is not his call.

Yes, it's in both the NBA and college game.

Excellent point Gotham...I was thinking the same thing. Jackson was hooking to get past Scottie the entire second half. The play in question Scottie had good position on the drive and Jackson hooked him out of the way so he could hit the open wing for a three. I kept asking (rhetorically) does the prohibition on hand checking go both ways? I think the NCAA needs to provide some clarity on this.

On a separate, related note. Did anyone see the blatant hook on Casey that allowed the Memphis guy to get the missed free throw stick back? Casey was complaining after the play, and they showed it on replay from directly above - and sure enough. Looked blatant to me, but neither of the announcers said anything beyond Vitale's "that's unforgiveable" comment directed at Casey.

Ha! That is hilarious. When my brother-in-law was playing college hoops, the coach made the team officiate youth league games. These sixth-grade girls were complaining about calls and glaring at him. He said the whole thing made him swear he would never officiate again in his life.

Long way from the days when we wouldn't even make eye contact with ref and just raise our hand after being called for a foul.

And on the Memphis boards they think they got hosed.

Such is the world of basketball fans and it will ever be thus.

Yeah right, until they started fouling they had 4 fouls to our 8 at one point in the second half.

Last I knew, the college rule just looked at whether the ball was traveling up or down; whether it hit the backboard was irrelevant. This is different than the NBA, but perhaps it has changed.
