One of them got ran over and is paralyzed from the waist down. Of course his family is calling for "justice" as he was just stopping to help another fallen biker when he was unjustly run over. I watched that the other day and those bikers are fairly lucky he didnt pick them off one by one as they tried to get by him. One bike is still going to lose a fight with a car even if there are 40 of them.

He should have backed over each and everyone of them. He had his wife and 2 year old in his car. I would have done a lot worst damage. Those bikers should be ashamed of themselves for terrorizing this family. And the guy that's paralyzed, consider yourself lucky to be alive. For some reason this story really bugs me, guess it's because I have a family and would do anything to protect them.

I'm pretty sure I'd be in jail for killing 63 motorcyclists if that were me with my kids in the car.

You can't fix stupid. Not even with a 5,000# Rover.

I echo the sentiments of everyone else.
What I don't understand is: where were the police? Why didn't the guy call 911 from his cell phone???

"This man with a Range Rover and luxury lifestyle — it's OK for him to do something to someone because he rides a bike or has tattoos?" she said.

She said she didn't know if the driver should be charged.

"But it should be acknowledged that what he did was wrong," she said. "He had many other options but he chose the violent one."

    ^^^^^
These sort of comments send me into orbit. What planet is this woman living on in which he "had many other options" as these violent idiots surrounded his family?!?!?!
I understand these comments are from a family member of the wounded cyclist, but good grief. This complete absence of accountability and total deflection is part of the reason this country is in the shape it is in.
I pray the wounded cyclist fully recovers. But good grief.
    Anyway... sorry for the rant.

Blamism. Everything is someone else's fault. It's an epidemic.

It seems like cops can be really worthless sometimes. This poor guy was probably on the phone with them for all 50 blocks. Most are probably scared shitless of these biker gangs - what other excuse is there? Read the story, they've been terrorizing these streets for a good long while.

I was on the phone with 911 while following a drunk driver swerving across lanes in heavy traffic a few months back. Police never showed up to pull him over after 10 minutes, and I even stayed around to make sure he was alright an extra few minutes after he missed a walker and smashed into a telephone pole.

Probably too busy working speed traps or escorting funerals.

It is hard not to think that I would have run over someone in an attempt to save my family and me from a mob of thugs. Had I a gun in the vehicle, the dude smashing the window with the helmet would have been killed, and no way would I have been beaten by anyone because I would have shot anyone who dared to assault me or my family in my own vehicle. This is the stuff of anarchy and everyone for himself type of survival. No cops around? I take care of myself and my family lest I end up dead being a fool and not protecting myself.

If they would of done that with my Pregnant GF in the car i would of shot em down. The Fact that they are claiming innocence is just insanity for a lack of a better word.

The fact that this event extended as long as it did in a major metropolitan area with no police intervention is mind boggling

Yeah, I don't understand that at all unless as someone said above, the cops are just afraid to do their job.

I would have had hood ornaments on my king ranch F250 if that was me and my wife and two daughters. And if that wasn't good enough, the two .45 colts may have been enough to persuade a few.

This is why you need to be able to have a conceal and carry. Of course this action all took place in NY, so the good guy get the hell beaten out of him.

That driver showed amazing restraint. I have a wife...2 little girls and a 3 year old son.
I would have run over every single one if I had too.
