obama is set to nominate former Pentagon lawyer Jeh Johnson on Friday afternoon. He has no experience for the job but has contributed tons of money to obama and the Dem. Who cares if he is able to do the job obama owes him for all the donations and this appears to be payback.

He has donated over $100,000.00 to Dem candidates including $33,000.00 to obama and $2300.00 to Hillary

"President Obama's pick to lead the sprawling Department of Homeland Security is a major Democratic donor who used to work with the president's 2008 campaign, leading one senator to call the choice "deeply concerning."

The president plans to nominate former Pentagon lawyer Jeh Johnson on Friday afternoon.
Federal campaign finance records show that over the past decade, Johnson has contributed more than $100,000 to Democratic candidates and groups.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Johnson donated more than $33,000 to Obama's campaign, federal records show. Obama's campaign website listed Johnson as a member of the then-candidate's national finance committee and an adviser to Obama's foreign policy team during the 2008 election.

He was also a supporter of Hillary Clinton, having contributed $2,300 to her presidential primary campaign in July 2008.

Being General Counsel for the Air Force and then the Defense Department is not relevant experience for DHS?

another minority. nothing wrong with it if qualified but it seems that there is an affirmative action agenda at play with this administration. no real surprise though as 0 is a product of aa and believes in redistribution through any means necessary even if it means passing over more qualified people due to the color of their skin or their sex.

What exactly does qualify one to be Secretary of Homeland Security? Our previous three have been two governors and an appellate judge who had previously worked as an Assistant US Attorney on financial fraud cases.

Neither of those seem like terribly relevant buckets of work experience either.

This is kind of funny, there's a critique on the left that he hasnt hired enough women in his administration. Too much AA on one side, too little on the other. He can't please anyone.

This happens on both sides, Obama's picks are just a little more revolutionary. I'm surprised he has not found a job for Bill Ayers yet.

Ayers is playing his part in the kabuki of pretending Obama isn't... him, basically. Obama, like his ideo-clone Van Jones, dropped the radical pose for the radical end.

Yes, its the clever trick of the leftist radical infiltrating the WH and pursuing policies contrary to what leftist radicals would like and in doing so inviting comparisons to George W. Bush, a hero of leftist radicals everywhere.

Doing it to keep up appearances since he was throw in to the media spotlight, all part of the show man. He can't be loving on Obama too much, if you read between the lines he shows some cards -the love of single payer, a desire the same guy he acts like he is down on has (single payer) the holy grail for the socialist. You just have to read between the lines it's clear as day. It goes in fits and spurts. Put out a crappy "cure" for the healthcare issue (Obamacare), knowing that it will suck and the sheeple will bleat for more saving and then you slide in single payer because those evil ins companies are making too much money. When all the while you helped line up the Ins Companies and they in turn helped fund you in elections. It will take about 1520 yrs to get there and Obama has already admitted single payer is his goal. So there you have it same goals, Ayers is just playing his part in the melodrama.

That's seems unlikely. I find Ayers rather sincere and craving of the spotlight (like most radicals), truth be told. In fact, he's got a another self-indulgent memoir being released soon.

Well every DHS head has been a lawyer, so it seems like an important start. Would working for years in the Pentagon count as a nice addition to the resume?

Which part is unlikely, they were both radicals, the both are on the record as desiring single payor. However the get to the goal.

Single payor isnt a particularly "radical" idea. The fact that Ayers and Obama may share it doesnt make them equivalent ideologically anymore than it makes Cuba equivalent to Canada in "full communism" because they both have single payor healthcare systems.

That the most leftist and most radical of leftist radicals aren't quite quick enough to pick up on the whole "we have to slowplay some of thus so the more sane/ethical parts of society don't figure it out" angle that Obama and his own cadre of wingnuts like the aforementioned Jones are working... doesn't actually surprise me all that much.

Ah, so Obama wants to transform society all slow and legal-like, through legitimate channels. I mean, that's straight up Lenin, yo.
