It's obviously a tad early to completely make that claim but damn those guys are good.
Very, very good. I still want to know what happened in that first quarter because if we played like the other 3 quarters I think it's a different game.
I said it before the year started. We should have the best defense in the nation. I do worry about the depth if we have an injury
I will go back and watch but the tempo got us a little and we might have been trying to do to much. All we need to do is line up and play nothing fancy.
whoda coulda shoulda ...
We lost a winnable game today, guys. That said, this defense was beaten on exactly two plays today. This really -is- a defense that can win championships. Unfortunately, its not the defenses' job to score points....
Remember their first TD was on a short field thanks to Matt Jones.
Wrong thread, nobody is making excuses here, we are talking about a great defense.
We have a defense that is as good as it gets, but they are handicapped by a little league offense that continues to make stupid mistakes combined with the most unimaginative offense in football. Hell, I'll take a fraction of the pay that Pease is getting and call runs up the middle 50% of the time. Instead of having a different Mr. 2 Bits each week, we should have a lottery where someone in the stands at the games gets to be the play caller. That would save about 500k per year and maybe people will show up at games just for the opportunity.
Yeah there are like 800 other threads to complain in.
Very, very good. I didn't think we'd be as good as last year, but we might actually be better (AZ called it!).
Doesn't matter how good your D is if your offense is as bad as ours.
As good as last year...but we don't have the safety play. Right now I would start VH3 as he has ball skills that the others don't. RoPo is good but not dominant. I hope he has another gear.
Our offense was not good today, but take away just the turnovers and we win.
Look we get it, a bad offense negates a good defense but go talk about that on other threads. There are plenty of negative ones out there, close your eyes and pick one. Lets be positive about our really good D in this thread.
Even on Miami's last score, there was blatant holding on one of the LBs (not sure who) and the TD should have been called back.
Based on what - they gave up 14 easy points
The D was very impressive. Aside from Maye's terrible angle, almost a flawless game.
Games are now more than 1 quarter long - they just changed it this season.
Maybe it should be....
How do we know? After all, we only played two mid-majors, right?
