Haha. I think I will!
Ask and ye shall receive.
A BCBS and some FBS fell into my lap so I'm looking forward to trying some more of the upper echelon stouts. That Underdark was the first barrell aged beer I've tasted.
Jai Alai @ the Rays game.
Cupid does not look amused
How is it? I have a bottle at home I'm going to try soon.
Nice and bitter. A little one dimensional but I like it.
Wife and kids are out of town. My work schedule prevents me to be with them. I went to my local Mellow Mushroom (Lawrenceville, Ga) for a calzone a done draft beer. The wait staff was all female and they were exceptionally hot. Since i was by myself i sat at the bar. i started out with a 22 oz a Hopsacutioner and finished off with a 12 ox Belgium Fat Tire. The beer and the calzone were excellent. The bartender (a 27 year old beauty was a real crafted beer connoisseur. I told her that her boy friend is a real lucky guy.
Growler of King St. Stout tonight.
Just pulled these off. Sippin a Jai Alai right about now..
Home brewed IPA with Nelson Sauvin and Galaxy hops.
Looks delicious. How was it?
Thanks! Very drinkable with some nice bitterness and tropical flavors/aroma...calling it Tropic Thunder IPA.
Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast
How is it? I love their Southern Pecan.
Not bad, but not great. I won't buy it again just because there are too many other good DIPA's available. Plus it wasn't cheap. It was like 12 bucks for a 4 pack.
Anyone try DFH 61 minute yet? I love wine and beer so I've been eyeballing it but haven't pulled the trigger.
Still on my beer hiatus, but I just got some juicy rumors about the new Lagunitas facility here in Chicago. It's south of the UIC campus and due west of the Pilsen neighborhood, so kind of nowhere, but close to Tri-Taylor, University Village and Pilsen. The brewery is in the bottom of a huge old building with a railroad line running beneath it. Brewing and bottling capacity is larger than all but two or three craft brewers in the US. The guys that were on the tour said it was mind blowing, the ceiling was over 50 feet high. Suspended from the ceiling is a huge box made of some transparent material. Inside it is the brew pub.
If that's not cool enough, the majority of the building houses the Cinespace Chicago, the biggest film production studio in town. They currently shoot interior scenes for Chicago Fire and will soon start work on a Michael Bay feature. There are also class rooms for DePaul's department of Digital Cinema.
Craft beer, celebrities, college girls… Sounds like things in the neighborhood are looking up. Brew pub is scheduled to open in June.
Has anyone been to the new CCB Restaurant in Northdale? I drove by this weekend and it looked like they are now open.
