The Super Bowls is now an excuse to drink great beer no matter how bad the game is, and in this case, the halftime entertainment.

After reading the last three pages of this thread, I've got to say you are the resident expert. You are tasting more beers, getting hold of beers most of us can't get. I hope we get to sit down one day in the same place and share a few fine ales together. It would be an honor.

Swung by Mount Dora Brewing today and tried their porter and red. Hopslam to start the game and now on to Highwater Brewing's Campfire Stout which tastes like a s'more. A bit variety today and the night is young...

Swamp Head Brewery - Catherine's Inspiration. Very nice Russian Imperial Stout, has a bit of an pure alcohol aftertaste though. But the flavor profile is textbook.

I'm just a guy who likes beer. No expert here, but I appreciate the kind words. I am just rather ambitious, so when I see opportunities, I run with them. In this case, my goal was to secure regular trading partners across the US. Nothing special, just guys like me who want to try good beer that they can't get where they live. So far I've succeeded in the West and Northeast. I am still looking for a regular guy in the Middle, specifically a 3 Floyd's connection. We'll see.

I was actually thinking the other day, it would be nice to have a Beer Thread tailgate at a future Football game. Not sure how feasible that is for some who live outside of FL, but I'd be down.

Now on to a Founders Dirty Bastard. I love scotch ales in the winter.

Switched to Peach Jai Alai. It's no longer available, I'm pretty sure I got 3 of the last growlers available. It went off the board shortly after I left. Great stuff. Hoping they bottle up 4 packs of the humidor peach this year. Fantastic offering.

I had that on draft at the Intuition Underdark release party. It was one of the guest taps. I thought it was pretty tasty; agree with your analysis.

Not a Scotch Ale lover, but that's a fine beer, especially on a cold snowy night like tonight. Had the Backwoods Bastard at the Founders brew pub last spring. That was very special. I missed it when they did their limited distribution in bottles.

I had another Sucks last night and second impression was better. Perhaps it was the food. First one I had was Saturday with ribs that had a too sweet sauce. Second was with avocado and sardine sandwiches. Tasted much better. (lest anyone laugh at the sandwich, it's Elton Brown's recipe and they are great)

The Sucks carton calls it a Brown Sugga substitute and something went wrong with BS. What in the world does that mean?

My daughter in Austin went to a local brewery's anniversary celebration. She had a "sour beer" and loved it. What is that?

Brown Shugga is a seasonal beer around Christmas time. Last year (2011) they lacked capacity to brew it, so they announced this, and made Sucks. Now Sucks is becoming a year round beer, starting this year.

Its a beer that taste sour. Not to sound like a smart ass, but that's basically it. I tasted a 3 floyds sour a month back, and that's how I'd describe it.

Yep. It's a relatively obscure style that has grown more popular as the craft beer scene gets bigger. They range from mildly tart to mouth puckering vinegary. I love them, but they aren't for everyone.

Drinking more sucks tonight. Also, finally found a date. Julian 354 which I believe equates to December 20th. Tastes great.

Ray, because of you, I swung by Cigar City and picked up a 4 pack of the White Oak Jai Alai. Problem is I am laying off the booze for the next few weeks until the Gasparilla Music Festival.
