One if the best beers I ever had was the first time my adult son and I went to a bar and grill for the first time together. It was sort of weird knocking down a draft or two together but it was a great special moment.

I've got a buddy in Chicago who's my dealer. I dont think they distribute outside of Chicago much. Worth tracking down though.

I think Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois mostly, with some in Ohio and Kentucky as well.

Picked up a bomber Sierra Nevada Southern Hemispehere, Avery Dugana IPA and a 12oz Petrus Oak Aged Pale Ale for tonight.

I've had a little brother (BB/BS) since he was in 5th grade. He's 20 now and I can't wait to go get a cold pop with him.

Gotta brag too. He just comitted to a pac12 school to play corner. Very proud.

Didn't know their distribution was so limited. I guess I'm fortunate, though at any given time, I can only find five or six of their offerings. I've yet to see Zombie Dust on the shelf. Only had it on tap at the local tavern. Can always get Dreadnaught, Alpha King, Pride and Joy, then two or three reserve or seasonal offerings.

Of the craft brands we can get, Three Floyds is the brand I enjoy the most. I think Founders is a little better across the board, but their better offerings are only around a short time, except for their stouts and I'm not a stout drinker. Downside of Three Floyds is that they are very expensive. I rarely see a bomber for less than $10 and I've seen them for as much as $18.

Best value is Lagunitas, especially if you like DIPAs. Maximus in the six pack and Hop Stoopid in the bomber are excellent beers and always affordable. Except for right now. I expect that to change soon.

I love Lagunitas and it's readily available.... makes it even better.

I don't get Founders here, but my Georgia buddy is sending me some Devil Dancer and Double Trouble. I'm pretty excited about that.

Getting some 3 Floyd's is on my to do list, but I may take it easy and just consume my current stock through the Holiday's, and replenish after.

Looking forward to that day, though it looks like my son will not likely be a drinker. He's 19 and already identifies himself as "straightedge." It will more likely happen with me and his twin sister. She's already drinking, though obviously not legally. Don't think she'll be much of a beer drinker.

Surpirsingly, I disagree. Found the Unearthly and am drinking it now. By far the most uninspiring Imperial IPA I've tasted. Its sugar water.

Drinking a sweetwater festive ale. My first winter warmer on the season. Pretty tasty.

Bear Republic Hot Rod Rye...not bad but for how excited I was to have them in Florida, I've been a bit underwhelmed

New Belgium 1554. Had our kickoff of Sweetwater last night and loved the Sweetwater blue. The 420 wasn't bad either. I work for a beer distribter and get to sample a lot of brew. The 1554 and turbo dog are my favorite.

It was a draft and I'm not sure what DOB is. I was shocked. Figured if you liked it, it's gotta be good stuff. I won't buy it again.

Date of bottling. Hops fade over time and can drastically change the intended flavor of a brew. Hop forward beers can become malt bombs before you know it with some beers.

True, but if it was on draft it was probably decently fresh, but you never know. Bummer you didnt like it though. Definitely don't try the Gemini then, as it is half unearthly mixed with another beer.

I'm about to try the Southern Tier 2xmas and see how it is.

Working in the beer store on a friday night makes this thread feel like home.

This Southern Tier 2xmas is damn good if u like spiced holiday beers. Figs, orange peels, and other spices. If you're in the mood for that, give it a go.
