Excellent beer. That's the only way I got through the last two Gator football seasons.
really liked Terrapin's Moo Hoo. A Chocolate Milk Stout.
Also love Fuller's London Pride, anything from "The Bruery"
Boulder's Hazed and Infused and Left Hand Milk Stout.
Last night, Oskar Blues Ten Fidy
Trying out the Ranger IPA from New Belgium. I am not a huge fan of IPAs normally but I am enjoying this one.
I've been indulging in the local Swamphead Brewery's beers, mostly the PA.
Kromhacher Pils and Krombacher Weizen. Also have some Stella's on stand by.
Bud light platinum. Never heard of it, so I bought a 12 pack
Had a Flying Dog Double Dog Pale Ale. Don't know why they call it a pale ale. It's definitely an Imperial IPA. 11.5% ABV and at least 100 IBUs. Perfect for right after the dojo.
My son was the executive chef chef at three restaurants in Athens, Ga. One was the Basil Press (now closed), Porterhouse, and Copper Creek (micro brew).
My wife would visit him once a month and we usually would pay a visit to the Copper Creek. This place is in Dawg Central but it is still a must visit if you are ever in Athens. The brewmaster is top class and has won several regional awards. He mixes the selection up to make eager to see what is new or if an old favorite is available again. The food is good got bar food but the beer is the main attraction. The brewmaster is great with the stouts. Very smooth and great on the tastebuds. Too bad he is in Chicago now because we haven't back to Copper Creek since he left a few years ago.
I'm guessing Chicago was a good move for his career. Where does here work now?
Last night? Lagunitas Censored and Cigar City Brewery Maduros.
Please note that I did my job and I turned my son into a die hard Gator. But that was not enough. Near the end of his five year stay in Athens he fell in love with a girl who graduate from UGA. Worst yet she is a Yankee from New York. All is not bad she is a real American beauty, real smart, and recently earn a masters in Psychology (in Chicago). When she graduated from UGA my son and her were together for two years. She advised him that she was going to grad school in Chicago. He told her that he had out grown Athens and was ready for big city life and work. That was four and a half years ago. He is now the Executive Chef (Partner) at the Capital Grill on Ontario St a block off Michigan Ave. Also he is still with that great girl.
My current favorite is Palm from Belgium I believe.
Nice. CCB is a great brewery.
tonights choice for a kittie beatdown!
the Anderson Valley Winter Solstice was fantastic too
well didn't get the kittie beatdown but the beer helped
Strange, when I lived in Chicago, the Binny's off Clybourn never carried the 4 pack of 120 from what I saw. Everytime I asked, they said that it was sold out and a new shipment would come on Tuesday. Come Tuesday, no 120.
Palo was insanely good. Have you tried the Namaste? I believe it is a summer release. Not strong, with hints of citrus. Good, decent summer beer.
