Jai alai. Yum
Nice selection CCH... oh, what to choose.
I had a Centennial and an All day yesterday. Call me crazy, but I think I liked the All Day better. When that comes out in cans it will be a STAPLE in my boat and beach cooler.
That's a good bit of coffee! What's the story?
I've always found All Day IPA underwhelming, but I do agree it will be great for the beach and the boat.
Was a big goose island event in jax for the launch of all their Belgians in Florida. The BCBCS was the finale. My job has sweet perks
"Right now" I am drinking a miller lite while I wait for my plane to board.
But that's all they have besides corona on the plane.
it's 5 o'clock somewhere!
That was my 3rd or 4th time trying Centennial. It's too floral an IPA for me. I prefer the fruity IPA's like Jai Alai.
My wife said the All Day taste grassy and I agree. I guess I prefer grass to rose petals. I bet Les Miles would crush some All Day.
Going to head to W.O.B to get a sip of that Stone Grapefruit Slam tonight, hopefully after a meeting. mmmmmm ruinten + grapefruit.
Going to a wedding Portland. Even though the flight is 45 minutes from NYC, it's beer 'o clock.
I could bathe in this. Grapefruit BOMB would be an understatement. Followed it up with a 17th. Incredible, too.
How was the Sofie? Any chance we'll see any BCBS anytime soon on shelves?
Sofie was pretty good. I think the Pepe Nero was my favorite of the ladies. Look for a limited amount of bcbs later this year. Not sure if it'll make it out to you in the panhandle
I had the Sofie paradisi, I am sure it was good but just really not my thing.
This is my thing though.
Fresh Jai Alai. Oh how I've missed this.
last night i had some wasatch white label. for a utah beer it was good
Had the jai alai on draft but like the maduro much better.
The tiki bar at Cedars East on Longboat Key has the jai alai on draft if you are down that way.
The Florida Cracker was ok also.
I like the Sofie, but prefer Matilda. They use the same wild yeast strain (hijacked from the Orval monastery) but Matilda is stronger and hoppier.
Rumor has it that Goose is about to release a Bourbon Country barley wine. They currently don't have one on their roster. John Hall retired the King Henry name when he left the brewery at his son Greg's request. I believe King Henry was Greg's last creation, though it wasn't released until long after the brewery was sold and he was forced out.
I expect the local operation to be very aggressive with Lagunitas coming to town. They're having their own beer and music festival in a few weeks featuring some new offerings. Unfortunately, it's the same weekend as the Hideout Block Party/AV Club Music Festival which is being sponsored by Lagunitas. I'd call it a draw with the beer, but the best music lineup is going to be at Hideout; Neko Case, Mavis Staples, Superchunk, The Hold Steady, The Walkmen, The Both (Ted Leo and Aimee Mann), John Langford, Young the Giant and a bunch of others.
