Interestingly enough, I was doing some Googling on Pease and stumbled across a Baylor forum post from the early 2000s, while he was their O coord.

Seems they had all the same gripes about their offense under Pease as we do - no line, no QB, no playmakers, dull play calling, and a regression in offensive production.

I won't post the link until some clarifies whether that's acceptable, but I thought it was fairly telling. Pease stinks at Baylor, goes to Boise and a system designed by an offensive guru in Petersen, looks great there, and then stinks again when he gets to UF. Maybe we should've hired Petersen as O coord because it seems Pease's success at Boise may not have been his own.

Several of the posters also lament his inability to understand who his playmakers are and utilize them effectively.

I'd say that Pease has been exposed as someone who got the credit which really should have gone to the HC at Boise St. Our offense is absolutely "offensive"!

DING DING DING I have been saying it all along. He has now idea how to draw up plays. He can call plays but when they are his he has no clue. It isn't Champ it is Pease. No has a head Coach Champ either needs to take control of it and do the unpleasantness or go.

Okay, let's say Brent Pease is Lane Kiffen, JR...falling up into better and better jobs despite no demonstrable personal success. Bottom line: Champ is now 0-2 hiring Offensive Coordinators. It may be football; but, 3 strikes and Champ should be out - a change needs to be made and I hope Champ gets the right guy this time.

I was really hoping this thread was going to be about art briles coming to Gainesville.

If Pease was so bad at Baylor, why in the world would an offensive genius like Peterson hire him at Boise? It doesn't make much sense.

A simple and immediate solution if Pease needs to go: give him some non-coaching job now (unless he'd rather be fired), make Joker the OC, and (being a coach short) make Chris Leak the QB coach (which he seems to be already).

    Or, hire Baylor's offensive coordinator.

This thread needs to be bumped for a week. I just did the search for Brent Pease "Fire Brent Pease Petition" and that Baylor thread could be put here and names changed and you would never know it was Baylor not Florida.

They talk about how aweful their O line is. Qbs can't throw from their backs. It is eye opening. A must read for everyone.

The answer is, as it was three years ago, Chris Petersen. He's 88-10 at Boise State. His play calling would excite players and fans. And with FSU returning to NC-caliber level under Winston, he's the best option at being able to match the Noles' offensive juggernaut.

Chris Petersen will not leave Boise.

Clearly he is not the answer, and was not the answer earlier.
