Jeff Holland playing WR still. Still dropping passes.

After dropping a TD, Holland catches one on the next play.

Phillips mistimes his jump in the back of the end zone and drops what Would have been a tough TD.

Nice one armed grab by Dionte Mullins, 2016 WR, on a back shoulder fade at the goal line.

Calvin Ridley got a step on Tyrek Cole but ran out of real estate on the deep fade.

WVU S commit Kendrell McFadden drops a pick in the gut.

Derwin James allowed to roam free, gets his hands on the ball.

Deontai Williams with an impressive INT. Yanked it right out of the hands of the WR.

Jaquan Johnson comes up with an INT.

Strong Arm (Miami), Belle Glade & Express (Broward/Dade) top three seeds in today's single elimination tournament.

      Day 1 Top Performers

      1. Gulliver Prep 2016 WR Dionte Mullin: At least two one handed/armed catches on the day. One on a back shoulder fade at the goal line where the CB had good coverage and his right arm was the only on free to make the TD catch. The other on a fade where there was good coverage again, he reached out and snagged the ball with his right arm and tight roped his way into the end zone. He's not the tallest (under 6'), not the greatest straight line speed, but had excellent ball skills and hands, perhaps the best in SoFLA regardless of class.

      2. Miami Central WR Da'Vante Phillips: His frame is starting to fill out and he is becoming the bruising type of receiver that will make his own space against smaller, weaker DBs when needed. Phillips wins more jump balls than he loses and he showed that with a beautiful catch he plucked off the DB's forehead in the corner of the end zone. His speed is more than adequate, but he's not the type that will blow the top off a defense at the next level.

      3. Monarch WR Calvin Ridley: Not his best day by his standards, but yet another solid performance for the talented target. He worked more of the underneath routes today, catching the ball in traffic and showing a little shake for a 6'2" target that is usually the vertical threat.

      4. Haines City S Derwin James: He's just a freaky good athlete. I think he's better than Ha'Sean Clinton-Dix when he was coming out of Dr. Phillips. 7on7 eliminates a huge part of his game, which is hitting, and you can still see some of the plays would end very different if pads were on. I think he's best when he's allowed to freelance from his safety position and use his instincts and athleticism to make plays – may give up a big play on the chances he takes, but will give you a couple big plays in return.

    Day 2

Tim Irvin, playing safety, showed great closing speed from the hash to the sideline on a fade for an INT. Irvin sporting a Miami hat.

TE Devonaire Clarington must have done something to tick off his QBs. Running open but has been targeted fewer than 5 times in these two days that I've seen. Zero this first game today.

Shawn Burgess-Becker in a Miami jacket. Heavy Canes lean.

Raines 2016 WR Rick Wells sporting a Gator visor today.

Deontai Williams playing nickel today. Spent much of the day playing safety yesterday.

Da'Vante Phillips bullied the CB on a jump ball in the end zone to come down with the TD.

Phillips follows up with a nice back shoulder fade for a TD.

Tested Kevin Toliver on a fade. It ended in an INT.

Derwin James jumps an out route and he jumped from his S spot for a pick-6.

Another DB had a PI to nullify Toliver's INT a play earlier.

WVU commit Jovon Durante goes outside and gets in on the jump ball fun. TD.

Frankie Hammond out here this AM watching.

Torrance Gibson here today. Looks like more WR for him.

After Dionte Mullins shined day 1, Deontai Williams shut him down this past game.

Jaquan Johnson comes up with an INT.

Dionte Mullins with another impressive 1 handed grab.

Tarvarus McFadden with a pick on a deep ball that was overthrown.

Torrance Gibson says he plans to visit Oklahoma, LSU, Clemson, Florida and others during spring break.

Gibson has improved as a WR these past 3 weekends. Size and speed would have him in the top group for FLA.

Good battle between WR Darnell Salomon and CB Tarvarus McFadden. 2 high end prospects.

And Gibson catches a high slant in the back of the end zone and toe taps two feet for a TD.

TD catch by Salomon over the middle. Extra point on a quick fade. McFadden not covering him either time though.

Another nice leaping catch by Dionte Mullins. Excellent body control in the air.
