    http://news.yahoo.com/misconceptions-helped-kill-australian-carbon-tax-061851872--finance.html

The Australians were very much for paying extra to fight climate change, until they actually had to do it. Now they are strongly against it. The legislation did a lot of damage to the political party that started it, and even created a wave of climate deniers among the Australian people.

Lesson: if you put a frog in cold water and turn up the heat slowly, you can heat the water as hot as you want and the frog won't jump out. If you throw a frog into hot water, he'll jump out every time.

So far, Obama and the democrats have been largely resistant to such wisdom. And time is running out on the Obama administration to do something remarkable, so the pressure is on to do something remarkably stupid.

I think Obama should start a very small tax, and allow it to grow slowly over time.

I remember that very well. Just wait for another 20-30 years....those same idiots warning NOW about the earth heating up, will revert back to the Ice Age dire predictions.

The scams are just like the climate--cyclical.

So in other words, climate deniers in Australia are just like climate deniers here. Their view is based on ideology and economics, not science.

Or - humans here are just like humans there, you can sell us on a lot of good ideas, as long as it affects your wallet for your ideas and not our wallets. Or in other words, no one likes to really pay taxes in general, especially for scientifically debatable things.

So let me get this straight, the point of the tax ultimately was to drop greenhouse emissions, right? The result was,"Its greenhouse gas emissions dropped a record 0.8 percent from 2012 to 2013." Less than 1% in one year, and that was a record year? I'm probably over-simplifying but that seems almost worthless.

I'm a chemical engineer. I think I'm capable of understanding climate science, probably a little better than you (maybe a lot better). And no, I'm not a climate denier. I think there is a high probability that climate change is real. But I think the problem can and should be fixed without blowing a hole in the economy.

I'm not sure you understand the things you read.

While I do not believe in man's influence on climate, Y2K was a very real problem that was only averted through large-scale awareness.

The reasons Australians changed their minds were not as simple as realizing they were going to have to pay for it. They were misled.

Get your hoodies ready, not for style but for warmth. Indications are we are going into a cooling period, based on reports that are as reliable as the warmists theory.
The artic ice has decreased, however the antartic ice has increased.Combining the total of the two there is apprx one million square kilometers more ice. A record since satellite surveys.
What makes the artice ice more important than the antartic ice with the warmists?

I don't get why more people don't see through the climate scam. When the govt solution is to tax the bejeezus out of everyone, in the name of global warming, I think that should be a dead give away.

What makes arctic ice more important to the warmists is those heartbreaking photos of polar bears desperately clinging to ice cubes whereas penguins are only photogenic when they're either waddling around on land or underwater.
