Appreciate the link, Mule but I have a couple issues with this article/report.

    It says:

2013 was a year to forget in Gainesville. Florida finished 4-8 overall and won just three games in SEC play. The Gators finished last season on a seven-game losing streak, largely due to anemic offense. Coach Will Muschamp is on the hot seat entering 2014 and needs to get this program back on track. New offensive coordinator Kurt Roper has a significant task ahead in order to fix Florida’s offense, but the Gators should have one of the top defenses in the SEC.

To read that....you would think we played poorly simply because of our offense.....when more accurately it was because of injuries to our offense....plus injuries to our defense. Sure our offense could have been better and now with a new O.C. we stand to make some significant strides but last year the injury bug bite us HARD!

Argument could easily be made that this year assuming we do not suffer the same level of injuries we did last year - we can get back to a 11-1 type record as we had the year before. Maybe even do better. That's not a stretch at all, IMHO.

Plus.....they are picking us to finish #3 in the SEC East.

    Screw those guys! =/

I hear ya Bazza. But it was horrible coaching sir. It had nothing to do with the injuries.....at all!

There will be a crew up people show up to remind you too. And most likely before you crash tonight.

At this point 23 is probably generous. Unproven offense that has ranked in the 100s the past three years. Another new offensive coordinator, and Muschamp who doesn't exactly strike fear into his opponents with his coaching ability.

Bazza, anemic offense and injuries was one thing (or two actually), but as is par for the course with these pre-season rags which are, IMO, utterly useless, the behind-the-doors fued between Pease and Davis was the real killer with this team.

This team was still a 7 win, bowl - worthy team despite the injuries, and we'd have won 7, perhaps 8 games (possibly bowl win) last year if not for the Pease - Davis feud IMO. Those two guys completely turned this team upside-down.

It's not a bad write up for early May. I'm impressed it mentions the new offensive weapon we just added: TE Jake McGee (usually these early write ups will have something blantantly missing like a player that transferred or suffered a season ending injury). So, I'll take it.

Ranking us 23rd is very generous (they have LSU at #19). I'll be very happy w/ 8 wins (and no blow outs)....and if we can beat LSU we could have a very good 9 (or more) win season.

Anypone who thinks the mber of injuries to key players didn't have much to do with losing is from another planet. Sure there were coacing problems and they certainly had a negatvive affect but losing key players was the single most important thing affecting play.

Damn, now I wish I would have been the first to say we would win 8 games.

I am assuming over 8 games also counts or just exactly 8?

I didn't notice all these injuries when we were melting down v.s. Lousiville in the Sugar Bowl, or at the start of the 2013 seasons when we struggled to beat Toledo and fell apart against Miami.

No one here will say injuries didn't play a big part, but this team was still good enough to win at least 7 games if not for the internal coaching problems. No wonder Muschamp was so stressed out last year.
