should we blame Obama for this alert system that was passed by Congress and signed by Bush?
Sure. But personally I keep it to things that the president was directly involved in. Rick has turned this into, "If he wasn't so busy doing (X thing I hate), he would have prevented a random attack, so he killed those people". To me, that is extreme. Is it for you?
Yes, he should be blamed, obama campaigned twice on changing the system. Is this what you had in mind?
A small detail lost on some who simply like to bitch...about anything.
We really spent this much money on something that is essentially Twitter? Given the speed of information, who wouldn't know if something happened almost immediately?
And Bush/Obama is irrelevant. They are both massive government stooges. The sooner we learn that "the other guy did it" is not a valid excuse the better. The more we use that excuse the more we just race to the bottom as each side one ups the other. They are BOTH huge government stooges.
Ringtones from Obama teleprompter readings could become sarcastically popular.
I think some people will blame the President for anything even though the President doesn't really matter as much as people think.
So you obviously agree that Obama is just a continuation of Bush.
Just like TARP, Gitmo, the huge NSA facility in Utah and a lot of other spending programs, Obama had the ability to put a stop to the spending before it occurred. Since he essentially ran against GWB in 2008, you'd think he would stop some of the foolish spending. Failure to do so is basically an endorsement of that spending. The alert system is a relatively minor item in the grand scheme of things, but indicative of a pattern of foolish spending for spending's sake.
That commie in the WH must really hate Apple, and their products.
You'll change your tone when you get one from Rubio.
If I get a free text informing me of some natural disaster or terrorist attack, it wouldn't bother me regardless of who is in the White House. It's just not that big a deal to me - read it, clear it, react if necessary, get on with life.
I agree. I was just joking.
Not always able to tell on this board. There are more than a couple here who think everything is a conspiracy of some type, at least as long as Obama is President.
I do not care but seriously. The wh hasn't been able to kssue a timely statement on any major event in the last decade. Why would we expect breaking news about a disaster from them? As for any pres issueing a statement. It j s meaningless at this point. Pure and utter pitics. Gone are the days when families would sent and watch the president address the country. Now the only reason anyone cares what a pres. says is to tear it apart for political gain
This is a waste of money and time and is useless.
