It was fun reading it again.

University of Chicago? "Where fun goes to die." Between studying 20 hours a day and walking to class while staring at your feet, who has time for sexual assault, or sex of any kind.

Sarah Lawrence? It must be women sexually assaulting men, which would be very traumatic since most of the very small male population there is gay (according to my daughter who swears she didn't see one straight guy on her visit).

BU? Hardly a surprise. They have the highest violent crime rate of any campus in the US, but students mostly get robbed at gun point or murdered, not raped. They go to other campuses to do that. I will make a point to pass this on to my daughter who is entering her junior year there. She's a bit cavalier about walking by herself at night.

I read about it in a NYTimes article-it was solely about FSU. This was about the list of so many schools I hadn't heard about being under investigation. Fortunately, FSU is the only Florida school on the list.

My father in law always tries to hand me his paper while I'm reading my iPad (or phone) and he sort of takes offense with a look that I can't describe. I try and explain that news that was reported yesterday, went to print and ended up in my hands the next day is now considered old news in this day and age. I actually still do like the act of reading a newspaper. Probably because it has a certain nostalgia (like reading an actual book) has over an e-book but Moby Dick is still relevant while news that is a day old is possibly not, as much can change in a day.

Federal Investigations into schools for not dealing with sexual assault cases adequately will be an ongoing story in the news for sometime given the Sandusky/Penn State situation. To refer to it as yesterday's news ignores the larger scope
of the perceived problem at the federal level.
