White is like Woulard last year. He won the Elite 11 but didn't really have any top 10 type offers. UCLA is on the rise with Mora and I hope the kid does well there.
Auburn is getting involved with White, which is good for us.

I sense that you are very close to the program but don't throw your credentials around when you state your well-informed opinions. That hardly makes you part of the problem.

I am officially off the White bandwagon.

I am not very close to the program. I am also not down on White. I just think this thread is ridiculous because the OP made no real argument for White.

Grier is a consensus Top 3 player at his position based on the 4 ranking services. He proved it at the Opening, Elite 11, and all the other camps he's been to. Why screw around with another QB? A kid that loves the Gators and has been committed for a long time. No need.

Grier all the way, nobody else. He's going to be special.

Screw you AZ and your logic. Don't bring that around here. We need two QBs in case Trent Brown eats one of them for lunch. And White has way more meat on his bones than Grier. So he will be the sacrificial lamb. I mean QB. You see... We need two QBs. As protection for Will Grier.

That was my first reaction too.

In regards to the OP, if you get a kid like Grier in a class, he is your QB for that class. Yes it's true that no one ever knows for sure if a recruit is going to be a star until they actually are, but that is just the nature of the beast. Two QB classes like Driskel/Brissett or Brantley/Newton are very hard to pull off and really aren't the best for team chemistry IMO. Muschamp's 1 QB a class philosophy is the best to do things. Plenty of evened out competition that way. We have Morhinweg, Staver, Wilkes, and walk-on Jacob Guy (Recruited at the MAC level) for depth behind Grier. We should be at the worst solid there. Plus we will take a QB in 2015, 2016, etc.

Grier has also recruited well for the Gators too since committing. We just can't afford to mess around losing his talent and commitment to being the Gator QB of the future. If Grier was a mid-level recruit, I would tend to agree that White would be worth looking into, but not in this case.

My wife can't even pick up on my sarcasm most of the time. But I thought this one was over the top. I guess I underestimate my underhandedness sometimes.

Hmmm. 6'2" 204lbs and runs a 5.05 40? Nah, gimme Grier any day!

Why in God's name would I let Trent Dilfer influence what we think of our future QB? Dilfer was a worthless QB in college and the NFL.

He was decent at both but I am not sure what someones play has to do with their evaluation of talent....see Michael Jordan.

Dilfer also never said Sean White was better than Grier just that Sean White won the Elite 11 competition

    Well, it WAS pretty subtle.
Trenton Brown eating a quarterback. Sure, it was pretty easy to overlook Something that small. I would just post a disclaimer next time.:ninja:

LOL this was one of the stupidest threads in a long time but I have to admit I read all of the posts. Grier is going to be a STUD and we will be very happy to have him.
