Maybe try to get both White and Grier and see which one turns out to be the best?

This would be a good year to take two. Then again, we don't have a lot of ships to give.

Nope Grier is better prospect. We told Grier we were taking one and that is what he should do. If they were taking two White wouldn't be the first call they made. There are other QB's in Florida the staff would probably take over him. And if you are worried about competition they should be able to get a better prospect than White in 2015

Well, that's your opinion, but here are some facts, Bobby Sabelhaus was a Parade All-American and John Brantley was the Gatorade Player of the Year.

The fact is neither you, nor anyone else, really knows how a kid is going to turn out.

Grier might be great, but he also might be a bust. I say take another QB an insurance policy.

No, I wouldn't trade Grier for any other QB prospect this year. We are taking one every class, we'll get a good one next year.

Did you read everything I said or just the first line? Sean white is a really good football player I have always thought so but I will take Grier and so will most staff in America.

Maybe, but staffs make mistakes on players all the time. Put it this way, in 2014 JD will be a senior and Grier will be a freshman, if Grier isn't as good as expected, UF will be in big trouble in 2015.

Taking 2 in 2014 is the smart move.

So you basically want the staff to break a promise to who is arguably our most important recruit since Tebow because there's a chance he could be a bust like Sabelhaus?

Talk about not trusting the coaches or hoping they maintain any shed of credibility with other recruits.

No, but assuming they made such a promise, it was a mistake.

You do realize there are other QB's on the roster right? If they took two the 2nd one would have not been White. They feel the smart move is to go with Grier and not try to push him away by taking another QB. If they were to go back on what they said they should do it after he enrolls

Besides JD, I don't believe there is another SEC caliber QB on the roster.

I dont have too much faith in the other guys but are you willing to lose Grier for Sean White?

And why would White come to UF if there is already a QB committed?

QB's want to be the only one in a class if they can help it.

If this board were only for those with BCS coaching experience, there would be tumbleweed blowing across your monitor right now.

When Grier committed to UF, most everyone here was ecstatic and was happy that he was the future at QB. I ask; what has changed? Grier showed well this past week. No, he didn't win the competition but he was one of the top 3-4 QBs this week. If the staff would have taken White and not Grier earlier in he yr, this place would be in meltdown mode.

Where is the guarantee that White would come to UF with Grier already on board? We, as fans, laud our coach and the ethics that this staff recruits with. At least what is publicly known anyways. If our staff told Grier he is the only QB in this class then so be it. I don't want our staff breaking their word just because a kid in FL had a great week. The coaches chose their horse, now we see how he runs. I for one am looking very forward to seeing what Grier does while at UF. There are always big names (Sabelhaus) that are going to be busts and those like Kellen Moore that weren't big names on trail but become big time players in college. Such is the nature of the beast.
