    From the article:

"We have a feeling, at least some of us, that it’s not necessary, nor does it serve a legitimate legal protective service,” Conyers said, adding that he believes the surveillance is too “far-reaching.”

“My considered judgement is that the Federal Bureau of Investigations’ actions are inconsistent with the requirements of the Patriot Act and violate the fundamental privacy of law-abiding citizens,” he said.

Becoming? We've never really demilitarized from WWII.

With the way this country is heading, the govt is just preparing to quell the riots, just like Europe.

They could run us over with tanks like they did in China, but it's cheaper just to shoot us and call us terrorists. Can't happen here. Right?

I can't disagree with your sentiments on this one.

Becoming a surveillance state?.. I'd say we are at the police state level.

Becoming? We became one when the Patriot Act was passed if not before.

All the cons whining here about their privacy would also be the first ones to attack Obama if a tragedy occurred from NOT doing it, so it's hypocritical.

So what is your rationalization for Obama hitting the gas instead of the brakes, shab? Does that question form in your mind, or is all BUSH in there?
