They were much better than this.
But their defenses were built to stop the run.
SOS turned them upside down and inside out.

the games are not very entertaining. I think I stood up one time yesterday

Also Muschamp is 4 and 8 against ranked teams.

I think I've seen enough to know how this ends

I stood up several times ... usually to go to the fridge or the bathroom.

I don't watch football to be "entertained." I don't care about entertainment. All I care about is winning. If we win, I'm entertained. If we lose, I don't care if we scored 60. I'd be thrilled if we won 13 games by a score of 3-0.

Well I can assure you if he was winning, people would be more inclinded to embrace his brand of football. Since he is not winning like he was hired to do, people are saying that it is boring and its not working.

Then you would be one of a few. I would just as soon not watch if all we're going to do is score 3 points.

    Towards the OP...

We saw the same thing when Zook was hired. People were pissed off initially and then came to accept what we had and Gator football stopped being as important as it used to be. That's whats happening here, IMHO. I think most reasonable fans can see the writing on the wall and realize that we're not going to win many championships with this style of football. We will still check in and follow the team, but when we lose, instead of getting angry, we will just shrug our shoulders and say "Oh well. maybe next game." or "Maybe next year."

What's really telling, has anyone heard a word out of Foley? Doubtful, he is probably having doubts about his secret recruiting trip. If we lose to Ga. all I can say, we need someone who knows what they are doing. It's not going to get better next year or the year after until changes are made to the staff. Once our attendance gets to Vandy's level, maybe we will hear something. Anyone remember Ray Goff?

We've held 13 straight SEC team's to 20 points or less. Thirteen straight. That's mind boggling, seemingly impossible. Only an idiot would give up on Muschamp, and Foley isn't an idiot. Get some elite skill position talent in the fold and nobody will beat us.

We have an awful lot of "fair weather fans" that cannot handle winning games with defense. Unfortunately, a lot of Gator Nation got spoiled by the prolific offenses that Spurrier and Meyer brought to Gainesville. Guess what....they are no longer here! We have a great defensive minded head coach who is dealing with somewhat limited talent on the offensive side of the ball. We can win 30-10 and they still want the offense to score 4 more TDs. Its very sad to read all of these small minded posters who can't seem to understand that defense wins championships! I try not to get into discussions with them because my father always told me "Its not a battle of wits if your opponent is unarmed!"

No. Scoring more than each of your opponents wins championships.

... if only we were winning games with our defense. Then you might have a case.

So being 102 in the nation in scoring is ok?

Our great defense played an ok game yesterday and we lost? Why? Defense only wins championships if the defense is so good it shuts everyone out every game.

I've been visiting Gator Country since 1995 when it was a way for me to read Swampie's Rumor Mill (I needed to know the latest on the Bucs hiring Spurrier). I've been a regular reader and poster through several servers, board changes, and external affiliations, all the way back to when Gus Garcia's name was still at the top of the page.

And this is my first post since the season opener. Not only am I apathetic about the season, the boards just aren't much fun either. I read but no longer participate, mainly because the discussions are instantly arguments and the tone is shrill, know it all, and generally unpleasant.

Sure, Gator fans love to complain. It's been that way forever. But something has changed here too, and the fun just isn't there for me anymore. For myself, I think there's a malaise at least in part connected with the team. Both the criticism and support feel forced, over the top, and sort of desperate.

Just as sports are entertainment, so are message boards. And while the constant, furious back and forth my entertain some, it's not my cup of tea. But maybe as the team settles in to its identity the boards will calm down some and be a little more enjoyable for those of us who don't find ripping each other new ones to be the desired use of our leisure time.
