I think its been pretty good with some twists and turns. I'm rooting for Barbie and I hope they kill Big Jim.

My DVR says "End of Season 1" for next weeks Finale. Does that mean they are going to do another season? I hope not. The only way they could pull this off is if they tried a similar thing in another city with new people and new secrets, but I assume we would know how to bring the dome down.

    Should be a good episode.

Been watching the show, enjoyed the twists and turns, King is a master of forcing everyday people into stressful situations and then showing how nothing is as it appears - pretty well done TV.com says it was renewed for a second season

Saw this thread so I decided to check it out and almost (or maybe) all of the episodes are on demand. Just got done with the first episode and I'm in the middle of 2.

Looks good so far, lots of stuff happening, crazy but good lol.

King often demands that the reader/viewer suspends reality at least in part-if I remember correctly the only one of his books I've read that didn't was Cujo

I like it but not sure how they could keep my interest for more than 2-3 seasons. I just hope they wrap it up before it gets cancelled.

I'm with you. I can't imagine what a 2nd season would look like except for what I mentioned in my original post. This dome needs to come down now. Would be interesting to see how they would move forward.

I still wonder (frequently) what the secrets were that the policeman's boss in the cancelled Awake series was hiding, dang it

I read Under the Dome, and have been watching the series. It strays from the book in a lot of ways, but Big Jim is turning into just as bad a guy as he was in the book. For a while there in the tv series, he seemed almost okay. Barbie seems to have a lot more dark secrets than he did in the book in which he was just King's typical good-guy protagonist.

Actually, he wrote Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me (it was called The Body) too.

I've liked it. I have to not over analyze it, like how are they powering the whole town off some propane tanks. It's like Walking Dead and Falling Skies (both shows I watch), way to much supplies still available.

Well I watched the whole season last week on Xfinity On-Demand and watched the season finale yesterday.

I thought the season was great although I found myself getting annoyed at how everyone is letting Big Jim do as he pleases when it would be so easy to expose him. The new Sheriff really irks me because she is so clueless.

Other than that, Im happy with the season and the ending. I usually don't like cliff hangers but I think with the way they ended it, the outcome is pretty obvious.

Me too. The town will be divided between the 2 groups and I had thought that she would be against Big Jim once she realized he was lying. At this point she is so clueless that I'm not sure she ever switches sides.

I get the feeling that they will keep trying to continue the series with no attempt to wrap things up. Eventually the ratings will decline and it will get cancelled with no resolution. I've grown cynical to these types of tv shows after this happening so many times.

I've been a big fan of this show, but I thought the SEASON Finale was weak. I just don't see how the can get another season with the Dome up. Even if it comes down in the first few episodes, then what?

I agree with everyone about the Sheriff being clueless. She should have realized by now that Barbie wasn't the bad guy since Julia is hanging with him.

Also, the part with Julia being the monarch was too corny.

I'll tune in for next season, but I have my doubts about the longevity of the show. I thought they could have wrapped everything up last night, kill Jim and figure out how to get the dome down.

Now that we know there is another life form, do you think we will see lots more of them?

I truly doubt there will another season...Why saturate a good product with a second series...there is no reason for it...

I really enjoyed The Dome and to me if The Stand could have lasted more than just four episodes I would have been very happy...

I read both books before the TV episodes came out and it really helps you visualize the characters...

Now I wonder if someone will adventure in to a mini-series of 1963???

In a recent interview, the producer of the show said it was always their intention to end the season on a cliffhanger and hope to get renewed for a 2nd season. This is one of the things that disappointed me. It was sort of marketed as being a show that was going to last 13 episodes, with the possibility of other seasons. In my mind that would have meant it would have wrapped things up but left a hint that there could be other possibilities. Sort of how 24 ended their first season or Missing with Ashley Judd.

the renewal for 2014 was announced a few weeks ago- plan for 14 episodes
& I agree that the Stand could easily been done as at a least a season long series
