Battle for Atlantis?
I'll be there. Wondering if I will run into any NBNers?
Trying to convince the wife. Uphill battle so far.
Going with my dad, early 70th Bday present for him...
You're a good son.
How much are the hotel rooms?
I got locked in a 95.00 a night rate fairly close to the venue at Comfort Suites as soon as bracket came out...got my tix thru UF bball contacts...so I did not do a package....kind of lucked into it (the hotel room)...not a 5* place by any means, but dad does not care...great thing is as guest at Comfort Suites you still get access to all teh Atlantis pools, water slides, etc....
Anyone know where you fly into, and then how you get to Paradise Island?
Kind of funny that it used to be referred to as Hog Island.
You fly into Nassau (NAS) And take a taxi or rent a car to Paradise Island which is a small island north of Nassau over a short bridge. The entire area is only 21 miles long by 7 miles wide but it's a 30 minute drive. I just got back where UK, UNC, LA Tech, Puerto Rica and Dominican Republic national teams were playing exhibition games. You could not pick a better venue. Huge water park, slides, lazy river, shopping, casino with sportsbook, incredible food and the best drinks anywhere. The prices are elevated as they import most everything but if you call the casino host you can get rooms for $100 a night. If you have a car you can find cheaper restaurants to eat.
They play the games in a converted ballroom so it's small but very social environment. You will be able to meet and greet players, coaches and other families. If you live in Fla. It's a no brainer. The water might be a bit cold to swim (I think the pools are heated) but the weather should be real nice outside. I lived there for 5 years so feel free to ask any questions.
Sounds like we own the place already!!
I would but I'll be in Vegas that week so I will probably make a few wagers...
Sounds like fun. The Comfort Suites are very nice (note that the 5* ratings do not necessarily reflect how "Good" a place is (just like with football recruits).
Sheesh Bullis - I could be your father (he is only slightly older than me).
I live in miami so am looking to attend. I made it out to Vegas vs Kansas and this is a piece of cake flight for me. But too soon to tell just yet.
I was at that one too . . .
. . . that was frustrating as hell.
