You mean 15 victory formations, counting the SEC championship game and the two playoff wins.

Westbrook is a giant of a man, the biggest TE we've had since Kinney.

Couple that with the reports that he is catching everything thrown his way and that's a promising sign.

This always drives me crazy, he was a four-star quarterback with SEC offers from Alabama and Tennessee (along with Stanford and Penn State). We could say that Tennessee and Penn State are in flux and desperate for anyone halfway decent, but why would Alabama and Stanford offer him if they didn't think he was any good?

FWIW, my personal opinion is that Grier looked better. His arm strength and foot work was better. When SM was running drills all I heard the coach yelling was "get your feet right". Of course time will tell, but I think Grier is the real deal. I really cannot wait until Treon Harris is on campus.

Because both programs have routinely done so?

    Alabama:
    Parker McLeod
    Alec Morris
    Phillip Ely
    Brad Smelley

    Stanford:
    Evan Crower
    Kevin Hogan
    Darren Daniel
    Dallas Lloyd
    Taysom Hill

If there was some overlap on that list you would have a good point.

Sure, if they have an extra scholarship they will offer someone they have a relationship that might pan out, but when you see the same person being offered by Alabama, Stanford, Penn State, Tennessee, and Florida, and you see him rated as a four star quarterback, "lack of talent" isn't what you start thinking about them.

    There's tons of overlap:

Parker McLeod - South Carolina, Arkansas
Phillip Ely - Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame, Oregon

    etc.

The notion that "Alabama recruited them, therefor they're SEC-caliber" is demonstrable untrue.

I'm sure his last name alone got him a few offers. I'm sure his dad is friends with a few big time college coaches. Maybe saban figured "nfl off. Coordinator son, ehhh! I'm nick saban I can work with that"

I had heard Penn State offered him as a safety, if so you can scratch them off too although I don't believe he is a "sec caliber" safety either:)
