No game thread? No discussion? Am I in the right place? What did you all think of the Gators' opening night?

I am wondering the same thing--no play by play or recounts of the game at all. When I landed in NYC I was hoping for a bit of a recap!

My family and I had a great first game. I went ahead and bought season tickets. My son really enjoyed seeing where you can go with hard work. Of course he's good at football as well so we'll see what he chooses but we had a blast. Appreciate all the info everybody gave me in my thread.

I've switched over to electronic scoring using iScore. Tried it out tonight for the opener and it went very well.

You can see the Gator website I set up at: http://iscorebaseball.com/gogators13

No discussion option but it will have a PBP record for each game, the entire schedule is on there. No login necessary, just click on "games" to pull one up. Automatically calculates stats.

I'm going to turn on the game cast tomorrow so there will be PBP feed. I posted links on the website front page.

Was thinking the same thing. Very surprised there's no game thread.

Pitching was excellent. Poyner's changeup is dirty. Harris and Young looked exactly like veteran bullpen guys should look.

Fielding was great too. No errors. Martin and Tobias are smooth as silk. Reed can cover a ton of ground at 6'3. I'm pretty sure neither left or right field got a ball all night long.

Hitting was so-so. Turgeon hit the ball hard all night and Gushue and Tobias both went to the warning track, but 2 of the 4 runs came on a ball that was hit about 40 feet that Maryland misplayed, and there was just a lot of weak contact. 9 K's too. No need to panic after one night, but not really much to get excited about either.

Overall a solid start. Glad to have the boys back.

Thanks DD11. That's what I was looking for! I was also impressed with the pitching but the lack of offense makes me a little nervous. It seemed like one big inning by the other team would be enough to do us in.

Interesting fact: we don't have a single senior on this team. A few RS Juniors, but in theory we could return every single player from this squad in 2015.

Initial impression, we will go as far as our pitching and defense can take us. Looks like we will have a solid rotation and some good relief pitching. Of course it is just one game and if the hitting comes around we will be tough to beat.

Gators take the series 4-0, 7-9, 8-5. I'll do my best to post some play by play when my schedule allows.
