Just wondering what some of the experts here think of the move and how he'll fit in. Can't say I've watched him play much since college. He brings some very good size to the SG position and Hamilton's best basketball is behind him. Seems like a bigger version of Korver.

I never liked him in college and he has had a underwhelming nba career, so as an adopted Bulls fan because of Jo, I don't like it but that's mostly personal not x's and o's. They're up against the cap and I guess he can shoot and space the floor so it's not horrible.

They're supposed to cut hamilton because he's expensive and can't stay healthy and it will only cost them $1 million instead of $5 mil.

Didn't like the length of the deal becuase it will cut into their cap space next season when Deng comes off the books or at least takes a pay cut and they most likely amnesty Boozer.

They needed to acquire someone at the two, but until they have the cap space or the perfect player becomes available, a role player with some unusual dimension to their game will do. I just hope they aren't giving up too much defensively.

    My thoughts?

I thought Dunleavy was retired already, when did they let senior citizens in the NBA?

My thoughts? Here it is. The fewer Duke alumni on your team the better your chances of winning the NBA title.

I haven't seen Dunleavy play much over the last few years either, but the last time I saw him (just a few weeks ago in the NBA playoffs) he was giving the Heat some problems with his scoring, helping to make the Heat work up a sweat to eliminate the Bucks in that last game.

Maybe that's why the Bulls went after him! Dunleavy looked pretty good in that game.

Thought he was a small forward with a decent outside shot and not much D. Has to contribute more than an injured Hamilton, but don't see it as a biggie either way. Bulls future rests with Rose s comeback IMO.

Would love to have Corey in Chicago, but I don't know how he gets significant minutes with Deng on the roster. Corey's too good to be brought in as a backup unless the starter was a defensive liability or couldn't stay on the court long. I think Deng played about as many minutes per game as anyone in the NBA.

Bulls are loaded if/when Rose returns. Rose, Hinrich, Deng, Boozer, and Noah with Butler, Dunleavy, Teague, Gibson, and Murphy off the bench. No expert but I thought Dunleavy was a great pick up, a shooter who had a hell of year with a frankly crap team of the Bucks. If he was a starter I'd say eh it's ok, but Dunleavy off the bench is perfect.

Probably means Murphy won't play, and might get sent down to Chicago's affiliated D-league team.

I dunno...I think he can fill a role much like Battier in Miami. They need a stretch four to open the lane for Rose and Boozer's certainly not gonna do that for them.

Pretty sure they are trying to sign everyone from that 2001 Duke team.

Battier isn't out there for his shooting. The 3's from his are a bonus to what he gives you on defense and rebounding. Neither of which is a strength for Murphy.
