“I didn’t get the chance to talk to him,” Callaway said of McElwain at the NFL combine. “I knew him getting fired and all that was [because of] me because of the season that they had. I know I could have made a big difference.” “A couple players made some mistakes and chose to do something that wasn’t right,” he told reporters. “Obviously, it cost us our season. I moved on from it. I’ve grown. I’ve learned from the experience.”

Yeah....if I wasn't selfish, self-centered, easily influenced, a non-leader, loved my school, respected authority, etc.

I don't know that he was going to block anybody, but he would have made a difference,.particularly in tight games where we just needed a field goal.

Still a very young player and young man, hope that this has matured him.

They are all kids. Some good and some not so good. He is definitely not in the former group. Honestly, I can't say I'll be rooting for him to succeed. Maybe I'm not so good too for thinking that.

He's like 21, I wouldn't characterize someone who, at 20 years old, decides to steal credit card info to buy electronics as a kid who doesn't know any better or is having a learning experience. It's not a 16 year old who stole some gas money or something.

At what age does someone stop being a kid in your eyes?

Way to own it and take responsibility for your actions AC. C'mon, be better than this.

Looks like you still have some growing up to do. We believe in you son!

I think we all know you are on the bitter side of the flavor spectrum. Nothing wrong with that, so long as it's well advertised! :p

When they stop acting like a kid. I think many 35year olds are kids. But a 20 year old is a kid, not excusing what he did, just saying he is a baby.

Apologizing and being accountable is just that. Coming from a place of humility.

If we apologize and really mean it, we apologize and move on. Apologizing shouldn't end with a pause and then a "but"...and further explanation-diffusing your responsibility with including irrelevant circumstances.

If we don't include humility and acceptance and leave out the other stuff, we're just going through the motions because we know we should...

    I wish him luck-with everything.

    Go Gators.

We all turned out better from Antonio's mistakes. He has learned and matured. McElwain has learned to brush his teeth and wear socks. The Gators got a better football coach and a more complete coaching staff.

He could have been a leader and told all the freshman not to do this. Instead he led them down the wrong path.
